Stampin’ Up! Oval Occasions Sneak Peek Thank You with Video Tutorial

Hey y’all – good morning and happy Sunday!  I hope you had a great weekend and got all the things done that needed doing!  Did you take your tree down yet?  Ours is coming down today – and will wait patiently until NEXT Christmas!  Which is only 356 days away.  Bwahahahahahaaaa!!

If you were able to join me yesterday for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If you weren’t able to watch the live version, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

One of the fun new bundles in the Jan – Jun 2021 Mini Catalog – which goes LIVE day after tomorrow! – is called the Oval Occasions Bundle.  It struck me the first time I saw it – probably because of the fun Double Oval Punch.  I am a sucker for punches!  I CASE’d a card in the catalog – just changing up the DSP.  I used the sweet Berry Delightful DSP (one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration offerings!).  Take a look-see:

I started with some of the pretty Poppy Parade paper from the Berry Delightful DSP – which you’ll be able to get for FREE, once Sale-A-Bration starts, with a $100 order (before shipping & tax) as part of a bundle with the Berry Blessings stamp set.

Using the new Double Oval Punch – part of the Oval Occasions bundle – I punched a bunch of Daffodil Delight scalloped ovals.  Tip:  cut strips to 1 3/8″ wide and they’ll fit perfectly under the large scalloped oval.  For the smaller oval – a 1 1/8″ wide strip is the way to go! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the scalloped ovals to the DSP – letting them hang off the edges.  Once they were all in place – I trimmed the excess with my Paper Trimmer.

I cut a couple more strips of Daffodil Delight and embossed them in one of the Meadow Moments Mini Embossing Folders – then five smaller ovals using the punch.  These are popped onto a few of the scalloped ovals with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I trimmed the excess again with my Paper Trimmer.

Using a few Glue Dots, I adhered a length of 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Trim – doubling it back twice.

On a strip of Whisper White, I stamped the Oval Occasions sentiment in Granny Apple Green.  Close by it, I added the floral image in Early Espresso.  I colored it with my Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend Combo.  Then I punched it out with the small oval in the Double Oval Punch and popped it over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used my Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend to color a few Pearl Basic Jewels and then added them to the card front and it was complete!

On the inside, I stamped a second Oval Occasions sentiment in Early Espresso and colored it with the Granny Apple Green Blends.

I usd Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Early Espresso mat and into my Poppy Parade card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the floral image from Oval Occasions on the front…

…and more of the Berry Delightful DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So…the Oval Occasions bundle is one of those fly-over sets, I think.  When you look at it in the catalog, it’s easy to dismiss it as “only for Easter” – but…that’s not really the case! It covers baby welcoming, thank you, celebration and birthdays, too!  And…PUNCH!!  Hello?!?

The Berry Delightful DSP – which will be available as a $100-level pick, bundled with the Berry Blessings stamp set during Sale-A-Bration.  And – it coordinates perfectly with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle in the Jan – June 2021 Mini Catalog!  Which just so happens to be the focus of this month’s Online Tutorial (free from me with a $50 order!).

  1. Susan k

Sweet card. Love the embossing on the ovals, TFS

  2. Sweet card! Love the fun oval punches. Yes, Finn does look like quite the story teller. 😉

  3. Love the card and so glad I was able to watch you live. I wonder how deep he was in thought and if a squirrel would have changed that serene expression. I love Finn!

    • stampsnlingers

He DOES have very deep thoughts!! But – pretty sure q squirrel would have interrupted hit reverie! 🙂 Thanks, Karen – I’m glad you got to watch, too! 🙂

  4. nice study of Finn! Loved the video, and you are right, it was a flyover set…saw the bunny and kept going. However, it is very nice, may have to reconsider. Nice card too, cheery, just not sure about the poppy parade and yellow…for me. That said, if you sent it to me, I would love it! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

LOL! I think it looks like a picnic! Yes – the huge chocolate bunny front and center of the page for sure makes you think it’s all-Easter-all-the-Time. But…nope! It’s a fun set and I love the punch! Thanks, Julie! 🙂
