Stampin’ Up! Cherish the Classic Christmas Season with Video Tutorial for The Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – Joanne’s getting us thinking about Christmas with her color challenge to us this week.  I know it’ll give your creative mojo a bump!  So I hope you’ll come and play along with us!

I wanted to do a fun-fold with you – so that’s what this is!  And I love the Shaded Spruce papers in the new Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP – which made it an obvious place to start.  Then I added some Cherish the Season – with its bundled Sounds of the Season dies.  Take a look-see:

I have several of the elements from the Festive Friday challenge (leaves, gold and green)!

And it’s pretty perfect for the Inspired By challenge this week!

This fun fold is uber-easy!  It starts with a piece of 4 1/4″ x 11″ Shaded Spruce card stock – scored at 5 1/2″ and again at 6 3/4″.  I folded it at 5 1/2″ like a “regular” card – then I folded it the “other” way at the 6 3/4″ mark.

I used Stampin’ Seal on the 1 1/4” section between the two score lines to adhere the front and back of the card base together. That creates the side-fold – and all the rest is pure decorating!

I matted a larger piece and a second smaller strip of the Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP on Real Red.  The large panel was adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stuck the card stock part way into the edge of the Classic Label punch and punched a notch in the top of the left side of the card base – the part that’s adhered together with the Stampin’ Seal.   I did the same on the bottom.

I adhered the smaller matted strip to the smaller part of the card base.  Then I wrapped some gold trim from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack around the card front – securing it with a Glue Dot on the front.  I tied a little bow and adhered it over the “seam” with another Glue Dot.

I stamped a sentiment from Cherish the Season in Real Red on Whisper White and cut it with a Tasteful Labels die.

Using the bundled Sounds of the Season dies – I cut two medium sized bells – these dies emboss while they cut! – from some copper Brushed Metallic Card stock.  I also cut some Shaded Spruce pine boughs.

And…of course!…I called on the Poinsettia Dies to cut a couple of Real Red berries.

I used a couple of Glue Dots to adhere a Gold Hoop Embellishment to the card front – they’re hidden under the sentiment.

Then I built the collage – using Liquid Glue to adhere all the pieces and parts.

I tied a big-loop bow with the Gold Trim and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

Finally – I adhered the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped a second Cherish the Season sentiment in Real Red on a Whisper White panel.  Over the top, in stamped-off-twice Shaded Spruce, I stamped the pine bough image.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red mat and then into the card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Cherish the Season pine bough on the front in Shaded Spruce…

…and more of the Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How fun is this fold? Probably why it’s called a….you know.  And I love the pretty images in Cherish the Season, with the Sounds of the Season Dies bundled in – those dies add such pretty embossing as they cut the bells!!
