Stampin’ Up! A Wish for Everything in the World Birthday Card!

Good morning and welcome to another week!  Do you know there’s only two weeks left in October?  It’ll be Halloween before you know it!  AND – that’ll also portend the end of the amazing Designer Series Paper sale!  Can you believe it’s almost over?  If you haven’t gotten your stash all bumped up – now’s the time with 15% off selected papers!!  Getcha some!

My card today is a birthday card – and I used some of the World of Good Specialty DSP (not one of the sale papers – sorry! 🙁 ) and the Beautiful World Bundle.  Plus…a few other goodies – like the Word Wishes Dies and A Wish For Everything stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And I also played along with The Card Concept this week – I’d call my card a clean-and-layered card, wouldn’t you? 🙂

I started by adhering a piece of World of Good Specialty DSP to a Bumble Bee mat for the card front. Then I cut a second pattern – one with gorgeous foil accents – with a Stitched Rectangle Die and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Then I cut a Mossy Meadow piece of the DSP and matted it on Bumble Bee, then popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the dies in the World Map Die set – bundled with the Beautiful World stamp set for a 10% savings – I cut a Cinnamon Cider solid globe, and then a detailed North American globe and the globe stand from a piece of Brushed Metallic Card Stock.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the three die cuts together and then to the card front.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the word “Birthday” from the A Wish For Everything set in Mossy Meadow.  Then I cut it out with a Tasteful Labels die.

From a piece of Bumble Bee cardstock, I cut the word “Happy” using the Word Wishes dies – then I adhered it to the sentiment label at a fun angle with Liquid Glue.

I popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a few 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots and the card front was done.

For the inside, I inked the globe image from Beautiful World with Cinnamon Cider ink – stamped it off TWICE on scrap paper – and stamped it in the middle of a Very Vanilla panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bumble Bee mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the globe image – this time in stamped-off-ONCE Cinnamon Cider – on the front…

…and more of the World of Good Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Pretty but not over-the-top, yes?  Would make a great masculine birthday card, too, I think!  The Beautiful World bundle is so cool – with stamps and dies for both hemispheres…

I’m finding that the Tasteful Labels dies are becoming one of my go-to die sets – do you have it?  If not – I highly recommend it – look at all your sentiment-label options!

And – if you like sentiments – and DIE CUT sentiments – check out the Word Wishes dies that coordinate with the A Wish For Everything stamp set!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Here’s a few pics from the bonfire last night!  We had a good time  – but Finn had a GREAT time!

We put the e-collar on him and let him roll with Texxie!

I didn’t get any good shots – they were moving too fast!

But…he did finally flop down for a little break.

When it got dark – the big bonfire was lit!

Looks like a witch’s hat in that picture, doesn’t it?? 🙂

We added Blinkin’ to the collars so we could see him.

He spent some time barking at deer – or whatever (figments)?  And sitting behind – or with one or the other of the party guests!  He’s quite the social fella, you know!

Look close – he’s there behind the raised human foot!

This one is lots easier to see him in – sitting with our friends Ed and Jan and his Dad!!

He crashed hard and fast when we got home – and then didn’t even get up until I went out to feed at 9!

This is what most of his Sunday looked like!

A tired Aussie…. 😉

  1. I’m sittin’ on top of the world (smile) with your card. I love those colors together and it’s such a great design. A tired Aussie is a happy Aussie.

    • stampsnlingers

I see what you did there! Thanks so much, Karen – and yep…tired=happy! 🙂

  2. Cool design! Love the colors! Looks like Finn had a great time at the party…and he wasn’t tired, just making sure that no one attacked from low levels. You can never be too careful. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – SOMEone’s got to watch the underground approach, you’re right! He is SO selfless! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. Linda Callahan

That stamp set and DSP are just striking together! Beautiful card!

  4. Being social wears on a fella! It does me too. I guess that is why staying home doesn’t bother me. I am getting so that when I HAVE to be social, I don’t want to.
Very pretty, though not sure pretty is the correct adjective for this card. I love your paper choices. Would do for most anyone, but it’s a really good guy card.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Julie! It was a pretty tame outing for us – we’re waymore homebodies than not! Glad that you liked the card! 🙂

  5. Susan K

Great card. I love your use of the die cut Happy in gold. I feel the happiness. I feel Finn’s tiredness too! Those active date nights can do that to a man!

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – Texxie is kind of hard to keep up with – a little high maintenance for a guy. But fun fun FUN!! Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂

  6. Mary, I love this card! The colors, layout, and all of the fabulous gold accents- what a great birthday card for sure! Also, it looks like you had a fabulous time with friends and Finn is so cute 🙂 Thanks for sharing with us at The Card Concept- we love seeing your artwork in our gallery!

    • stampsnlingers

We did have a great evening – thank you. And thanks for the kind words, Julie! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  7. Gorgeous card with such wonderful patterns and textures! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
