Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Boughs Posted For You with Video Tutorial for The Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – Claire’s got us thinking Fall and critters this week!  🙂 It’s a fun one – and one that I know will give your creative mojo a bump!  So I hope you’ll come and play along with us!

If you were able to join me yesterday for my Facebook Live video (as part of the Inkin’ Krew WCMD 2020 Facebook Event!), I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If you weren’t able to watch the live version, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I thought “moose” when I thought Fall critters.  Now – to be fair – it’s not like they…hibernate…or anything during the other three seasons, but…still.  It’s MY card and I’m calling it a Fall critter card. 😉  And then I added the oh-so-Fallish Peaceful Boughs and the Beautiful Boughs die.  And a totally Fall sentiment from Posted For You!  Work with me here, okay?  Take a look-see:

And here’s our Paper Players badge – I hope you’ll come and play along! 🙂

And I played along with the Global Design Project this week – it’s a CASE The Designer Challenge – with the talented Su Mohr providing the inspiration card!

I started with some wunnermus woodgrain paper from the Poinsettia Place DSP (on SALE this month for 15% off!) that I matted on Mossy Meadow card stock for the card front.

Next, I took a strip of bronze Brushed Metallic card stock and embossed it in the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, adhered it to a Mossy Meadow mat and to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut some pinecone and bough-strewn paper from Poinsettia Place with the largest Stitched So Sweetly Dies rectangle and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it onto the card front.

I cut the large sentiment label die from the Beautiful Boughs die set from a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the sentiment from Posted For You in Mossy Meadow.  I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used a strip of Stampin’ Seal + across the sentiment and used it to adhere a few loops of Bumble Bee 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon.

Using the Beautiful Boughs dies, I cut an Old Olive and Mossy Meadow Bough, then used the berries die in the Poinsettia Dies to cut the bronze Brushed Metallic card stock.

I adhered the boughs and berries to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I made a Figure-8 with some Linen Thread and adhered it to the card front with Glue Dots.

Then I used Dimensionals to adhere a Soft Suede moose that I punched with the Moose Punch.

Finally, I colored some Pearl Basic Jewels with my Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blend and stuck them around the collage and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped some boughs from the Peaceful Boughs stamp set in Mossy Meadow and Old Olive on a Very Vanilla panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Bumble Bee card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the Peaceful Boughs boughs on the front in Mossy Meadow…

…and more of that gorgeous Poinsettia Petals DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This card is a wonderful coming-together of several stamp sets and dies and they’re ALL good ones!  I love the Peaceful Boughs set and the Beautiful Boughs Dies – which is the coordinating die set.  And when you add in a sweet Moose Punch and gorgeous Poinsettia Place DSP – you’ve got a real winner!  And – although the Posted For You only provided the sentiment for this card – it’s a very sweet set, too!

I hope you like!

Don’t forget that this month you can get the Poinsettia Place DSP for just $9.78 (that’s a 15% savings!)….

Finn Fan Fix

We went to our friend’s last night for a semi-impomptu bonfire!

Finny went with us.

And met…Texxi – the whippet.  The two year old whippet! 😳

They have a fenced yard and so….I released the Wiggle-Butted Cracken!

This video was started AFTER the initial 4 minutes of 3000mph zooming.

Be patient.  Behind that bush that’s all you can see for a minute….

Well – just keep watching.  ALL will be revealed!

What was so interesting is that he played with her without doing so much of the usual Aussie body slamming (like he does when he’s with his sister).  He was fully into the zoomies.  Until he had to be fully in the water trough!! ROFL!

He slept REALLY good last night – then sort of staggered out of bed when I got up and crashed in the hallway for another 3 1/2 hours!!

  1. Such an awesome card! Love the design and layering, pretty colors too! Fun video of the “kids” playing…but I’m with Finn, I’ll hang in the water and watch you run. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – that trough might have NOT been where you wanted to hang… just sayin’! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Lovely card…I just got that poinsettia paper and can’t wait to make some rustic, beautiful cards like this one!

    • stampsnlingers

It’s one of my favorite packs of paper, for sure. Thanks so much, LeAnne! 🙂

  3. It was so much fun watching yesterday and I do love all the laughter you and Finn bring me. With his antics, I had tears rolling down my face. Both your cards were beauteous and I’m still wondering why I haven’t gotten the moose set! Have a blessed day.

    • stampsnlingers

He’s ALWAYS good for a chuckle, for sure! Thanks so much, Karen. And…yes. Why HAVEN’T you got the MOOSE!?!? 😳😳😳

  4. LOVE! All your layers and elements…what a great design!

  5. Faith Simpson

That was a fun video to see!~! (both your cards yesterday and now this one of Finn)!! Glad Finn gets to play with another doggie sometimes……hard for a guy with all that hair to keep up with a short-haired Whippet tho!! Golly, Mom…..no wonder he was tuckered out. So cute to see them running side by side.
Your team did a wonderful job on World Card-Making Day!

    • stampsnlingers

  6. Great use of papers, and embossed foil, on your card, Mary!

  7. You KNOW how much I love this card. Just sayin’! It has all the necessary elements (well, except plaid!) for a gorgeous card. May have to CASE this one too. Great video and another great one of Finn and friend. Thanks for sharing your talents and the joy he brings to life.
BTW, thanks also for WCMD! Sorry I couldn’t be there all day, but did watch the videos and answered the goofy questions. So much fun!

Glad you made at least part of the day but sorry your birding got wx’d! Thank you so much, Julie! 🙂

  8. Mary, this is gorgeous!!!!!!! I love all the layers and details! The twine behind the moose adds so much texture!!!!!! So rustic and such a fantastic masculine card! Thank you for making my challenge shine!

  9. What a beautiful card Mary, with the layers of woodgrain. pine branches and pinecones, plus all those lovely leaves under the handsome moose! And yes, I vote in favor of moose as a fall critter LOL!

Love the video of Finn and his friend…it only reinforces how smart he is to seek comfort when he’s hot. Too fun!

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – okay – since we BOTH think it’s a Fall critter – then it is! Thanks so much, Stef! Appreciate you coming by! 🙂

  12. Mary, I just love this! Love how you paired the moose with the pine branches. I don’t think you could have picked a better mix of patterns to work so perfectly together, too. My favorite is that pop of Bumblebee gingham ribbon. Absolutely fantastic, all around!

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you so much, Anne Marie – that’s very kind of you! 🙂
