Stampin’ Up! Hooray To You Flowers for Every Season!

Happy Tuesday! Our weeks just keep flying along, don’t they?

I mean – I put my Christmas tree up yesterday!

😂😂😂 Made you look at the calendar, didn’t I?

But you KNOW that’s right around the corner!  Once the kids go “back to school” – however that looks in 2020! – it’s a down-hill slide to the furor of the holidays! 🙂

One holiday that comes year-round (okay – it’s more of an “occasion” than a “holiday”!) is…birthdays!  And that’s what I made for today – a birthday card using a sweet little stamp set in the Annual Catalog called…Hooray to You!  What?  You missed it? Check page 104.   Yup – I think a lot of folks might have paged right past it – but…I love it.  Especially when you add a little Flowers for Every Season DSP!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s TGIF Challenges sketch.

And I also played along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to…add some blue to our projects!

I started with a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock that I embossed in the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing folder and adhered to the front of my Misty Moonlight card base.  Remember – dry embossing the actual FRONT of the card base can weaken it – and make it flimsy!  So…you can get the same effect by embossing a piece of same-color cardstock (the same size as the front of your card) and adhering it with some Liquid Glue. 🙂

Next up, I pulled out a piece of the gorgeous Flowers for Every Season DSP – isn’t this just the prettiest pack of paper ever?!? – and cut the largest of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

On a piece of Whsiper White cardstock, I stamped the Hooray To You image twice in Just Jade ink.  One of the images I cut with a smaller (but big enough to get the whole image!) Stitched Rectangle Die.  Using a much smaller rectangle – I cut JUST the sentiment portion of the image in “landscape” orientation.

I adhered the larger rectangle to the Flowers for Every Season die cut with Liquid Glue.

On the smaller piece, I used my Magenta Madness, Bumble Bee and Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Write Markers to color the flowers.  Then I carefully lined up the images and popped that over the larger die cut with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored some Rhinestone Basic Jewels with my Dark Magenta Madness Stampin’ Blend and added one to the bow – and a few to the colored flowers – and the card front was done! 🙂

On the inside, I stamped a second Hooray To You sentiment in Just Jade on a Whisper White panel.  Next to it, I added one of the (two!) sweet little flower images from the set in Misty Moonlight.  I colored the middle of the flowers with my Magenta Madness Stampin’ Write Marker and added another of the Magenta Madness-colored Rhinestone Basic Jewels in the center of one of them.  I added a Misty Moonlight-matted strip of the Flowers for Every Season DSP, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Magenta Madness mat and into the Misty Moonlight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Misty Moonlight and Magenta Madness Hooray To You flowers on the front…

…and more of the Flowers for Every Season DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Hooray To You is another one of those fly-over sets that caught my eye – I love that big, bold focal image, and the addition of some smaller flowers and sentiments to use on the inside and (#nonekkidenvelopes) on the envelope!

This sweet stamp is ALSO featured in the 2020 Beginner’s Brochure on page 10-11, where you’ll find easy sample projects and…an “easy button” Project Collection!

I hope you like – and will circle back to take another look at this sweet little stamp set! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

Finn went to a theme park the other day.

For humans, it looks a LOT like a a drive-thru car wash. 😉

JUST like a theme-park ride – he was looking forward – watching the approach of the start of the ride!!

And then…we were in the “tunnel of terror”…that’s what WE were calling it. HE just thought it was…weird!

WHAT.  THE.  HECK.  IS.  GOING.  ON!!?

Our van’s getting a bath, Finny.

BATH!?!?

Nooooooooooooo……it really IS the Tunnel of Terror!

😂😂😂

  1. I saw this stamp set and loved the balloon but I knew I wouldn’t have the patience to color the flowers. Your card is fantastic. I love how you matched the two balloons…perfect eye! I always loved the car wash…such fun for pups…wonder what he is really thinking.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Karen! I think he just thinks it confirmed his suspicions that humans are weird! 🙂

  2. Susan K

You took that flower-balloon stamp to a new level. I love spotlighting the word part, esp on the flower paper. Fun card. Fun ride through the “theme park” too. It can be scary sometimes! Hope it didn’t traumatize poor Finny.

    • stampsnlingers

Nope – he’s already recovered nicely,. Since HE didn’t get the bath – the van is on its own! 🙂 Thank you, Susan! 🙂

  3. Sweet card! Love the layering. 🙂 Poor Finn…an unexpected bath with lots of air fluffing at the end. Tunnel of Terror for sure! 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Perfectly fun card ride…gone horribly wrong! 😉 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  4. Charlotte Hutcheson

What a darling card…I’m looking forward to having our phone conversation later this week…I always get a kick out of visiting with you.

    • stampsnlingers

Me, too, Charlotte! Will be getting with you soon about your workshop total! Thanks so much! 🙂
