Stampin’ Up! Happiest of Birthdays to You Dandelion

Good morning and HAPPY HAPPY HAWWWWMP DAY!!!  Yeah!

And – know what else today is?

No?

Well – it’s the day that we SU! demonstrators get to see the new 2020 Aug – Dec Mini Catalog in digital format!  Whoo-hooo!!!  Today at 3pm Eastern, to be exact.  So…you know what I’ll be doing then, right?!  Yep – perusing it to see what I want to PRE-ORDER on 1 JULY!

Want to get an early look and your hands on the new goodies early, too?  AND get $125 worth of goodies from the current catalog PLUS a free BUNDLE of your choice?  And Free shipping on all those goodies?? And 20-25% off on everything you purchase (including the aforementioned pre-order??!).

Well – NOW is the time to join the team!  But – this super-duper-Joining Special ends on 30 Jun, so….best get after it!  Check out down below for the deets and then let’s get you hooked up! 🙂

Now – with that plug out of the way, I have a card today that’s been on my gotta-make-it list since I saw the sample on page 103 in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog!  I love the new Dandelion 3D Embossing Folder – and…this card, paired with the new Happiest of Birthdays stamp set – is a beaut!  Take a look-see:

I loved the sample so much that I really wanted to make it for you without much change – all I did was tweak it a bit for the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge.

I started with a piece of Vellum card stock that I embossed in the new Dandelion 3D Embossing Folder.

I turned the panel over and used my Bermuda Bay Watercolor Pencil to color just the leaves and stems.

I used Glue Dots under the embossed parts of the vellum to adhere it to a Pool Party panel.  Then I adhered the whole thing to a Pool Party mat with Stampin’ Seal.

Using my Light Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend, I colored a length of Pool Party 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon.  When it was dry, I wrapped the ribbon twice around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.  Then I wrapped a length of Linen Thread around and tied a little bow.

I stamped a sentiment from Happiest of Birthdays in Mint Macaron on Whisper White then cut it with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  I cut it and then I re-positioned the die and ran it thru the die cutting machine a second time to make the sentiment shorter.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I popped the sentiment over the ribbon on the card front.

I used my Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend to color some of the new Butterfly Gems (I colored the Seaside Spray gems) and adhered them to the card front – and the card was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to stamp a second Happiest of Birthdays sentiment in Mint Macaron onto a Whisper White panel.  I added a few more of the colored Butterfly Gems.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Pool Party mat and into my Bermuda Bay card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some Bermuda Bay butterflies from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set on the front…

…and a little Mint Macaron Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  What a big and beautiful sentiment stamp set this Happiest of Birthdays set is!

And – I love dandelion images of all sorts – and a Dandelion 3D Embossing Folder? Oh yes!!  My goodness!!

I hope you like and…will be adding these goodies to your stash post haste! 😉

Finn Fan Fix

Finn gave me one more day in “his” spot so that I can share the rest of the great birthday cards I got this week from my friends, teammates and customers!

This lovely floral card is from CNCK teammate Clara Shore!!

Inkin’ Krew teammate Barbara Simmons sent this Poppy beauty…

Elisha Smith, a fellow SU! demonstrator from Neil Armstrong’s birthplace in Ohio, sent a lovely fun-fold!  The middle piece slides up and off to reveal the gate fold!

A lovely friend, Susan Heine, who, along with a group of talented ladies, uses my retired papers, ribbons and embellishments in their quilt and card ministry for veterans – sent these two sweet cards!

My CNCK team member, Terry Lynn Bright, made a fun birthday card with the So Much Happy Bundle and Playing with Patterns DSP.

And, another of my lovely CNCK team members, Susan Kuenzel, sent this fun card!

Wow.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I have been so blessed with all the folks that I’ve met and become friends with since I joined Stampin’ Up!  I am so very grateful to each and every one of you for helping me to ring in my 29th birthday! 🙄😎

Thank you all so very much!

  1. Such a pretty card! Love that embossing folder, the vellum really shows it off! And the butterfly embellishments add the perfect finishing touch.

Lots of awesome birthday cards! Happy 29th (or so) birthday!! 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – it’s one of my favorite things ever!! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Diane

I hope you have had a fantastic 29th birthday week…you can never celebrate too much. Thank you for all you do

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Diane! I appreciate the kind words! 🙂

  3. You received quite a variety of lovely cards. I’m looking forward to 2 PM! I didn’t see anything about a “live” today for you so assume it won’t be happening at 1 PM.

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – I was so wrong about the go-live time – it was 3pm. And…my YouTubes are on Thursday – so it’ll be tomorrow. Hope you can join me – and hope you enjoyed the “browse” thru the new catalog! 🙂 Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  4. Kathy L

A belated Happy Birthday to you, Mary! I’ve been AWOL from the ‘net for a few days, and missed your special day, I hope it was grand. With so many lovely cards arriving, it certainly must have been. You are certainly a talent magnet, attracting all these gifted card makers to your team. Congratulations!

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you very much, Kathy – and welcome back to the “net”! It was a good day – with lots of happy mail all week! 🙂

  5. Angie Latham

Beautiful dandelion card! I will def CASE that one. The birthday cards are all lovely, as well, although I miss Finn. 🙂 I am curious how Elisha Smith’s gate fold card works. I don’t see a belly band, but the middle piece slides up and off. How does that work?

    • stampsnlingers

It’s a cool “locking” mechanism – and I’ll be making a card using this fold on my YouTube video tomorrow! Thanks, Angie – Finn will be back soon! 🙂

  6. Jenny Engelke

This is so perfect!!!! The dandelion EF works excellent with the vellum…..and those little butterfly gems…I can’t get enough! Love it all! Thanks for playing along with us at HSS!

    • stampsnlingers

Aren’t they so fun? And love I was able to color them a little with the blends! Thanks, Jenny! 🙂

  7. Stephanie Atterbury

    Absolutely lovely!

  8. Oh wow I love that embossed vellum – I really need to get some vellum in my stash. Our colours look so beautiful on this card – thanks for sharing with us at HSS this week.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks very much, Fiona! Appreciate you stopping by! And embossed vellum is so pretty, don’t you think??

  9. robbier52

Gorgeous card. I don’t have that embossing folder yet. It is on my wish list. Love how you used it. Thanks for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments!
