Stampin’ Up! Rise and Shine Let’s Hang Out – with Video Tutorial!

Good Friday morning, y’all!  Hope your week has been as good as can be expected as we all adjust to what appears to be our new normal. 🙁

It’s scary, I know.  But…we will get to the other side of this – of THAT I am certain.  We may not love all of the journey – but…let’s try to find the good.  Let’s all help each other as best we can.

And – let’s all try to stay home as much as we can, okay?  Take the time to do some crafting while we’re home!!

If you were able to join me for my YouTube Live Video yesterday –  I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

For this one, I used the super cool – and BIG! – Rise & Shine stamp set (one of SU!’s cool Reversible sets) from the Sale-A-Bration Second Release.  This one is free thru the end of March with a $100 purchase (before shipping and tax).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiment sketch challenge.

And the color palette I chose is from the CAS Colours & Sketches Color Challenge.

I made a fun background for the card front with strips of So Saffron gingham paper from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Each strip is 1/2″ wide and I used Liquid Glue to adhere them on a diagonal on a piece of Balmy Blue.

I made the panel larger than I needed – and each strip was longer than necessary, too.  Once all the strips were adhered – I used my Paper Trimmer to trim all the excess and cut the panel down to size.

Then I matted the panel on a piece of Melon Mambo.

I matted a small rectangle of Balmy Blue gingham (also from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP) on Melon Mambo.

I made some loops of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine using Liquid Glue – then I popped the Balmy Blue rectangle on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the cup image from Rise & Shine – once in So Saffron and once (in the “reversed” orientation) in Balmy Blue.  I used Melon Mambo to stamp the sentiments and the sun burst.  Then I cut them with the matching cup dies from the Cup of Cheer set.

Now.  The Cup of Cheer Dies have sold out – and I’m not sure if they’ll be replaced or not.  So – if you already have them, you can just cut the cups.  If not – they’re a pretty easy fussy cut – just don’t cut the middles out of the handles!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the cups to the card front.

The sentiment, from Rise & Shine, is stamped in Melon Mambo on a strip of Whisper White.  Then I snipped banner ends and adhered it to the card front.  I used a Stampin’ Dimensional on the left side of the banner and Liquid Glue on the right.

A small Melon Mambo gem from the Glitter Enamel Dots finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped some So Saffron flowers on a Whisper White panel.  In the middle are smaller Melon Mambo flowers.  I also added some Balmy Blue leaves.  And each flower got a Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the center.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Melon Mambo mat.

For the So Saffron card base, I used the large flower image and stamped it all over the front and inside with So Saffron ink.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the inner liner on the inside, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more flowers on the front (this time I stamped the Melon Mambo flowers off once before stamping the envelope)….

…and more So Saffron DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Especially right now, when we’re Socially Isolating ourselves, this Rise & Shine sentiment reflects how we feel, don’t you think?  Send a card to a friend and let them know you’re thinking of them – and looking forward to spending time with them again real soon!  I hope you like!
