Stampin’ Up! Label Me a Bold Bee for The Paper Players

I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – it’s a sketch challenge to help jump-start your creative mojo this week!  I hope you’ll come and play along.  🙂

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I made two different cards this time around – with the Label Me Bold stamp set and some Golden Honey Specialty DSP as the main ingredients for both versions.  Take a look-see:

And here’s this week’s Paper Players theme challenge!  Join the fun and show us your projects!  I can’t wait to see what you create!  🙂

Although I didn’t use the exact colors, I pulled my color scheme from this week’s CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.

And the paper choice comes from the TGIF Product Spotlight Challenge.

And – I also think these have a Masculine Twist, so…they fit right in with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

Thanks to some Stampin’ Blends and the gorgeous Golden Honey Specialty DSP – these cards are easy-peasy!

I started with some black and white striped DSP and colored the white stripes with my Light Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  The middle few stripes are colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.  TIP:  use long, straight strokes of the brush tip on your Blends.  The color will look better – regardless of which side you use!

I adhered the colored paper to a Basic Black mat for the card front.

For the art, panel – I used the splotch image from the Label Me Bold stamp set – and stamped it three times – the top is stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie, then stamped-off-once Daffodil Delight.  I finished up with stamped-off-once Old Olive.

Using the stars image in the set, I stamped it three times in Versamark Ink and then sprinkled them with Shimmer Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I heat set the powder with my Heat Tool.  Then I matted the panel on Basic Black.

I stuck a couple of Glue Dots in the middle of the panel and wound a length of black twine from the Country Club Baker’s Twine Combo pack in a figure-eight “bow”.  Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With a star die in the Stitched Stars Die set, I cut a Vellum cardstock star.

For the sentiment, I stamped two images from Label My Bold in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Whisper White.  I cut them both with a narrow die from the Stitched Rectangle Die set.  I had to manipulate it a little to make it small enough for the sentiment (check it out on the video).

I lined everything up on the card and then adhered the two sentiments to the Vellum star with Liquid Glue.

I added some Dimensionals under the sentiments and then popped the whole thing over my “bow” – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the splotch image again in Old Olive – this time I stamped it off on scrap paper TWICE before adding it to my Whisper White panel.  Over that I added another Label Me Bold sentiment in Tuxedo Black.  I stamped some Tuxedo Black stars next to the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a stamped-off-once Old Olive splotch – and some Tuxedo Black stars on the front…

…and more colored Golden Honey Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Label Me Bold stamp set is what I call a “fly-over” set – it’s easy to miss it – or to dismiss it!  Heck – I almost did!  But – I love the simplicity of the sentiments and the ability to use them with various dies – or even quickly fussy cut them.  Adding color here and there is easy with the other grpahic images in the set.  And – how happy are you that the Golden Honey Specialty DSP is BACK IN STOCK – and get-able for FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-bration!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The other day, while Wayne and I were eating lunch in the kitchen – as is his usual – Finn ate his breakfast.

Yes.  He saves his breakfast to eat while we’re eating our lunch.  He’s THAT dog.

Anyway – once he was done – he hurried into the living room.

A moment later – here he came.  With his essentially-dead-only-half-of-him-remains bear.

He loves that bear.

He entertained himself for a couple of minutes and then decided we were probably done eating and probably really wanted to play.

Dad?

Mom?

Since he had completely misjudged our level of “doneness” with lunch, he was….disappointed.

Bummer, dude. 🙁
