Stampin’ Up! Lily Pad Impressions and Tulips Sympathy Card

Well – it’s here again!  Monday!  Yeah?

Do you realize January is almost over?!?  Yikes!

My card today celebrates Sale-A-Bration (which is only around thru the end of March, remember).  I used the Lovely Lily stamp set ($50 level reward) and the Lily Pad Dies ($100 level reward), plus the simply gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP ($50 level reward).  And…I borrowed a couple of sentiments from Itty Bitty Greetings (2019-2020 AC) and Timeless Tulips (2020 Jan – Jun Mini Catalog).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

And I thought the TGIF inspiration challenge was fun this week, too! 🙂

I started by embossing a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock – it’s the same size as the front of the card – in the new Stone 3D Embossing Folder (get this one bundled with the Power of Hope stamp set with a $100 order during Sale-A-Bration).  Then I adhered it with Liquid Glue to the front of my Pretty Peacock card base.

To make the angled panel, I first laid a piece of the Lily Impressions DSP across the card base.  Then I flipped it over and traced the back of the DSP so I’d know where to cut.

With the pencil line clearly visible, I cut the panel in my Paper Trimmer.

Then I adhered the panel to a piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock – lining up the two straight sides to create my “normal” mat edge.

I used my Paper Trimmer to cut off the excess card stock – eyeballing the mat size.

Then I adhered the matted panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the flowers, I used Melon Mambo ink to stamp the large flower in the Lovely Lily stamp set on a piece of Whisper White card stock and one on a piece of Flirty Flamingo.  I “pulled” the ink out into the petals of both flowers using a Blender Pen.  Then I cut them both out with the die in the Lily Pad Dies set.

I also used the detailed flower die to cut a Melon Mambo flower.

The sentiment, from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, is stamped in Melon Mambo on Flirty Flamingo and cut with the lily pad die.

I layered the flowers and the sentiment using Liquid Glue.  The sentiment is tucked into the flowers – hiding the little “dent” that makes it a lily pad.  So…it’s just an oval!

I wound a piece of So Saffron twine from the Metallics Baker’s Twine and Sequins combo pack ($50 level reward) around my fingers five times, then tied another piece around it to create a “bow”.  Which I adhered to the card front with a Glue Dot.

Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the flowers/sentiment over the top of the bow.

I added some Melon Mambo gems from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a sentiment from Timeless Tulips in Melon Mambo to a Whisper White panel.  In the bottom corner, I stamped the big flower and used my Blender Pen to pull ink into the petals.  Then I added a few Old Olive gems from Noble Peacock.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Flirty Flamingo mat and into the Pretty Peacock card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Lovely Lily flower in Melon Mambo on the front…

…and a little more of the gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Lovely Lily stamp set and coordinating Lily Pad Dies are the perfect complement to the gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP.

That paper is SO pretty – you can SEE the brush strokes in the oil “paint”!  Stunning!  I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below.  With a $200 order – you could get the Lovely Lily stamp set, the Lily Pad Dies and the Lily Impressions DSP for free!

Finn Fan Fix

So – apparently “the look” is in Finn’s DNA.

He gets it from his mom, Bonnie.

He gets it from his dad, BJ.

He definitely comes by it honestly!

No food shall hit the floor un-noticed!

  1. Bonnie has Betty Davis eyes (thought I’d get the earworm out of the way first!) No wonder Finn is so handsome, his parents are gorgeous! So is your creation. I love the design and colors. I also appreciate that you put the “how to” in photos as I am a visual person and this design is one of the most difficult for me to do…not now! I really need to place another order so I can get this DSP! Enjoy what is left of January…4 more days…who would have thunk it 🙂
