Stampin’ Up! Peace & Light Christmas Blessings

Happy Monday, y’all!  As we count down – FAST! – towards Christmas, I hope that you’re making your way thru the seemingly endless list of “to-do’s” to be “ready” for the big day!!  And that you’re getting a little time to spend enjoying the season.

My card today truly celebrates the reason we have the season at all.  And it comes to you from a beautiful Retiring stamp set in the 2019 Holiday Catalog, called Light & Peace.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And the cool color scheme is from the TGIF Color Challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and in the corner, I stamped the sentiment from Light & Peace in Seaside Spray ink.

I embossed the panel in the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, then matted it on a piece of Silver Foil to create the card front.

I ran a length of Seaside Spray 1/4″ Metallic Ribbon down the left side, securing it on the back with Glue Dots.

Using a die in the Christmas Layers Dies – I cut a pretty flourish from Silver Glimmer Paper.  Since I wanted the “corner” to go the other way – I turned the paper over in my Die Cutting machine – cutting from the back-to-the-front (versus from front-to-the-back) of the paper.  That reversed the die cut for me!

I adhered the die cut over top of the ribbon with Liquid Glue.

On a seperate piece of Whisper White, I inked and stamped the Light & Peace angel image in Versamark.  I sprinkled it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.  Then I fussy cut her.

I used my Clear Wink of Stella to brush her wings, then, still with the Wink Glitter Brush,  I picked up Seaside Spray ink from the lid of the ink pad and used it to “watercolor” her dress.  I used my Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend on her hair – and the Ivory Blend for her face and arms.

I popped her onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a single Rhinestone Basic Jewel by the sentiment and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Light & Peace sentiment in Seaside Spray on a Whisper White panel.  Then I adhered a Christmas Layers die cut in Silver Glimmer Paper with Liquid Glue.

I usd Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Silver Foil mat and into my Seaside Spray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Light & Peace angel on the front – stamped in Seaside Spray and colored as on the front of the card…

…and I stamped another Light & Peace sentiment in Seaside Spray on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The elegant images and sentiments from Light & Peace really exemplify the beauty of this season, don’t you think?  I hope you like!

Don’t miss this sweet stamp set, y’all – it’s on the retiring list and will be gone for good on 2 Jan 20!

Finn Fan Fix

This is how Finn spent much of Sunday.

Sleeping.

Cuz we were having a party/team meeting at Sue’s!  Which – since we agreed that there are no calories in any food at a party (we saw it on the internet, so….take THAT to the bank!) – involved way too much eating!

After lunch – we had a team meeting with Amy via Zoom.

Then…we made cards! Yeah!

Love these ladies – such a nice day – and a big Thank You to Sue for inviting me and Wayne up to her home for the event!

Here we are – Krew South!

While we were congregated in the South – Krew North was doing pretty much the same thing! Hey, Terry Lynn! 😉

Here’s a sneak peek at the cards we made with the gorgeous Painted Poppies stamp set – I left mine “sentiment-neutral”, so that I can add a sentiment later for whatever occasion I need!  I suspect I’ll use the Peaceful Moments stamp set (all coming on 3 Jan 20!).

Pretty, huh?  In a future post, I’ll give you the how-to’s and what-not’s so that you’ll be able to make your own!  🙂
