Stampin’ Up! Here’s a Card with Woven Heirlooms!

Happy Happy….three-days-before-World-Card-Making-Day!!

What?  Expecting something else?? 😉

Okay – Happy HAWWWWMP Day!!

Better!? 😉

My card today is a CASE of the catalog.  Cuz…I was playing with a challenge that called for CASEing the catalog!  So…since it was focused on the Woven Threads suite…that’s what I used!  Along with…the Here’s a Card stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the interesting sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

And – as I mentioned…TGIF Challenges asked us to take inspiration from Page 12 of the Annual Catalog!

I started with some pretty paper from the Woven Threads DSP and matted it on Seaside Spray for the card front.  I took a second design and embossed it in the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.  Then I brushed the panel with some Celestial Copper Delicata Ink – using a wedge of Stampin’ Sponge.

I cut that panel in half length-wise and then cut both those pieces in half width-wise.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the pieces to the card front…

…and then trimmed the excess.

Then I used another piece of Sponge to brush some Frost White Shimmer Paint across the brick pattern.

I used the Heirloom Frames die to cut a Seaside Spray frame.  Then I lightly misted the frame with water using my Stampin’ Spritzer, then I embossed the frame in the matching Heirloom Frames 3D Embossing Folder.  I brushed the frame with a little more Frost White Shimmer Paint – and lightly creased (“mitered”) the corners.

On a Sahara Sand panel, I used my Stamparatus to add a sentiment from the Here’s A Card stamp set in Early Espresso.  Around the sentiment, I stamped the Thinking of You sentiment from Woven Heirlooms in stamped-off-once Sahara Sand.  I also used stamped-off-once Terracotta Tile to add the flourish all around.

I brushed a little more Frost White Shimmer Paper over the sentiment panel and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  I adhered the frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With Glue Dots, I added Bird Ballad trinkets in the two opposite corners.

I used my Dark Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blend to color some White Solid Baker’s Twine and tied a double-length simple bow.  I also tied a double-loop bow with Linen Thread.  I used Glue Dots to adhere the two bows in the corner.

With a few little dabs of Liquid Glue, I added a few Woven Threads Sequins – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus again to stamp a Woven Heirlooms sentiment in Early Espresso on a Sahara Sand panel.  I added some more little flourishes in stamped-off-once Sahara Sand in the corners – and brushed a little more Frost White Shimmer Paint (we’re talking really dry sponge, folks!!) across the panel.  I also added a few more Woven Threads Sequins.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Seaside Spray panel and into my Pretty Peacock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a couple more (full-strength) Sahara Sand Woven Heirlooms flourishes on the front…

…and some more Woven Threads DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this cut-and-then-emboss set that you get when you buy the Heirloom Frames Dies and 3D Embossing Folders (yes – you get all of it in one pack!), don’t you?  And the fonts in the bundled Woven Heirlooms stamp set are simply stunning!  And – if you’re in the market for lots of different kinds of sentiments – you won’t go wrong with the Here’s a Card set!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

We have the answer from yesterday’s question…

Interestingly – Finn has NOT made any attempt to “figure it out”.  Fingers crossed that that lasts – our “fence” is not exactly “permanent”!

  1. What a pretty card! Love the framing, great colors too! Glad that kitty figured it out and that puppy hasn’t. 😉

  2. Interesting layout which you turned into a lovely card. Was ‘mitering’ the corners of your frame an original idea? It is brilliant! I wouldn’t have thought of that.
    Glad the fence is working.

Thanks, Julie! I saw an example in the catalog that looked like they’d done that. Not sure exactly HOW they did it – but…my version makes me happy! 🙂 And yep – so far cat is eating her food and dog is not! 😉

  3. Don’t you wonder what Finn is thinking about this whole set up? I’m thinking your card is lovely. I have not used my set yet. I’m trying to figure out where time is going and why I have so much unused stuff. In a few days, I’ll have more stuff arriving from Utah. I do have my charge card number memorized and so does SU!

I used to, too, Karen! Now, though, with it all stored…I can barely remember the expiration date! But – it gets a workout for sure! I think Finn thinks…dang it. I wish they’d buy ME cat food. HER food is SO much better than mine! 🙂

  4. Debbie

So pretty! I love the distressing of the brick!
Thanks for playing along at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

  5. Woww, what a beautiful card.

  6. Gorgeous card! I absolutely love that frame! Thank you for joining us at Tuesday Morning Sketches.
