Stampin’ Up! Modern Heart is a Well Written Thank You

Well.  Tuesday arrives.  And when I look out the window I don’t see the Greek isles – or miles and miles of ocean.

And – when I go to get a cup of coffee, no one will admonish me to “washy-washy”!! 🙂

It’s truly back to the real world, my peeps! 🙂

My Katy is fine – looks like she got along okay in our absence.  I wanted to thank Sonya for taking care of her, so…a card seemed to be in order!  And – unlike the horse-care-thank-you…this one needed a cat.  So…out came the Cat Punch.  And I paired it up with the new Modern Heart stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The color scheme for this one came from this week’s Sunday Stamps color challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White.  In the middle, I stamped the bold “swath” image from the new Modern Heart stamp set.  I stamped it twice in Bermuda Bay ink.  With the tiny heart image, I stamped here and there in Pretty Peacock.  Then I matted the panel on Highland Heather.

On a second piece of Whisper White, I stamped the large heart image in Tuxedo Black.  Then I colored the various shapes on the inside with my Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends in Bermuda Bay, Shaded Spruce, Highland Heather, Purple Posy, and Pretty Peacock.  Then I fussy cut the heart.

I used some Glue Dots to adhere two lengths of Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the card front.

I added some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of my fussy cut Modern Heart and used them to wind several loops of Silver Metallic Thread.  Then I popped the heart onto the card front.

I punched the cat out of Basic Black card stock using the Cat Punch and adhered her over the heart with Liquid Glue.

Using the Well Written Dies, I cut “thanks” and “You” from Whisper White.  I snipped the “s” off of “thanks” and then adhered the words to the card with Liquid Glue.

I added some Noble Peacock Rhinestones and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the large Modern Heart in stamped-off-TWICE Pretty Peacock on a Whisper White panel.  Over the top, I added a sentiment in Highland Heather.  I scattered some tiny hearts across the panel in Bermuda Bay.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Highland Heather mat and into my Pretty Peacock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more hearts on the front…

…and I used my Stamparatus to add the Modern Heart images on the back as well!

Et Voila!  I wasn’t sure about this Modern Heart set – but was intrigued by the samples in the catalog, so I added it to my stash!  And boy, am I glad that I did!  It’s obviously going to be a great set to use for all sorts of cards!  I love it in the peacock colors of the challenge.  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The Man is home!  He was happy to see us – for about 15 seconds, then he zoomed around the Puppy Tubs lobby sniffing every single sniff.  And debating if he could get away with grabbing a bone out of one of the baskets!  Even the pictures are blurry! 😉

He was damp – so he’d obviously had a play in the pool in the morning – and ready to get in the car (after we got his suitcase and food bucket!).

That’s not his suitcase – that’s my new Soda Stream!

On the way to the house, right at the mailbox, we saw a doe and two (tiny!) fawns!  I was WAY WAY too slow to capture them on camera – but…the Man totally saw them!

Once we made it to the house, he unpacked his suitcase, putting Mr. Reindeer and Mr. Elephant away.  Then…it was time for….

…a nap in front of the air conditioning vent.  This travel stuff is exhausting – the jet lag is just horrendous! 😉
