Stampin’ Up! Silhouette Above The Clouds

Good morning!  We’re on the cusp of the weekend!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned.  Our friend is coming over tomorrow morning to get a refresher on feeding the ladies while we’re gone.

The list is pretty long for something so simple!

I might have some control issues…

I’ve been having a lot of fun with the new See A Silhouette DSP and today is no exception.  For this one, I pulled some swirly – blue – sky-like paper and added some hot air balloons from the Above The Clouds bundle.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one came from this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge.

And “Balloons” was the theme challenge over at the Global Design Project.

I started with the swirly blue paper from the See A Silhouette DSP and matted it on Mango Melody for the card front.

The vertical panel is a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Using the clouds image from Above The Clouds, I stamped the image three times in Balmy Blue.  I added Night of Navy bird silhouettes by the clouds.

On two more pieces of the See a Silhouette DSP, I stamped balloon images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Since I didn’t want colored borders (which I’d have gotten if I’d use the Hot Air Balloon Punch) – I fussy cut them – and then tidied up the lines with my Journaling Pen.

I adhered the balloons with Liquid Glue to the Whisper White panel.

I stamped the balloon basket in Balmy Blue (the “fill”) and Night of Navy (the wicker) on Whisper White and punched it with the Hot Air Balloon Punch – then adhered it under the bottom balloon with Liquid Glue.

The sentiment, from Above The Clouds, is stamped on a strip of Whisper White.  I bannerized it with my Paper Snips, edged it with my Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some more Night of Navy birds on the balloons themselves to give the card some depth.  Then I stamped more clouds in Balmy Blue on Whisper White and fussy cut them – and popped them over the balloons with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A few Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped another balloon in Tuxedo Black on a Whisper White panel.  Inside it, I stamped a second Above The Clouds sentiment in Night of Navy.  Then I punched out a balloon from a Sticky Note using the Hot Air Balloon Punch and laid it over the balloon on the panel as a mask.  I stamped some more Balmy Blue clouds and Night of Navy birds.  When I picked up the sticky note mask, the balloon appeared to be floating in front of the clouds!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another balloon, sentiment, clouds and birds on the front…

…and some more See A Silhouette DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I am really loving this See A Silhouette DSP, aren’t you?  And the Above The Clouds bundle – with its wonderful sentiments and coordinating Hot Air Balloon Punch, is really a good one!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Sometimes it’s just too hot.

You gotta get close to the fan.

Really.  Close.

From the front – to cool the intake…

And from the rear to cool…well.

  1. Very cool card Mary! Love the mix of designer papers on your balloons. Finn and I share many traits…the fan standing on the front and back is one of them. 😉

  2. Thank you for jogging my memory as to a challenge I wanted to enter! I was looking at this DSP from your share yesterday and couldn’t quite figure out what to do with it…you have inspired me to create with it today! Finn fanning his fanny is too cute!

  6. I like what you did to create this card, although, you know I just am not a fan of bright colors. I prefer the subtle approach, but this did make a lovely card for someone. Great idea to stamp on the DSP.
