Stampin’ Up! Inspiring Iris for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a Color challenge (and it’s a gorgeous one!) – so, I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

I pulled out one of my new stamp sets – this one is called Inspiring Iris and it’s really beautiful! – to play with this challenge.  And then (couldn’t help it!), I added a little of the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

And…our color challenge!

Love those colors together, don’t you?

So – let’s git it!

I started by matting some “linen” paper from the new Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on a Blueberry Bushel mat for the card front.

On some Very Vanilla, I stamped the pretty Inspiring Iris flower image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I stamped the flower-fill-in image (this is a three-step image) in Pretty Peacock and the stems/leaves-fill-in image in Old Olive.

The sentiment, also from Inspiring Iris – is stamped in Blueberry Bushel.  That sentiment stamp is actually curved already – perfect for adding just like that!

I cut the image out with a Rectangle Stitched Die.  While at the Big Shot, I also cut the same size die cut from some Blueberry Bushel card stock.

I adhered the Blueberry Bushel mat and the art panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.  I added a couple of strips of new Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape – purely decorative, it’s not “holding” anything on!

I added a single Noble Peacock Rhinestone in Pretty Peacock (been dying to use one ever since I got the pack!) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Inspiring Iris in Blueberry Bushel to a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I took the carnation image and curved it on my Acrylic Block before stamping it in Tuxedo Black.  I added the flower-fill-in in Pretty Peacock and the leaves and stem in Old Olive.  I added another Noble Peacock Rhinestone, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Blueberry Bushel mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Inspiring Iris carnation on the front…

…and more of the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this Inspiring Iris set – it’s a bit of a “fly-over” set, I think, but…do NOT fly over it, my peeps.  Do go to your catalog and check it out on page 111!  I hope you like!
