Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes and Magnolias

Happy Friday, y’all!  Are you ready for a weekend?  I am – you’d think this had NOT been a four-day week! 🙂

So – we’ve been invited to an…odd?…party in a couple of weeks.  Apparently there’s going to be food and drink and games and karaoke and a wedding and some prizes and…wait.  What now?

A wedding?

Yes.  A wedding might “break out”.  Like…a flash-mob?

I haven’t a clue.  But – like military wives of yore (at least I HOPE it’s all “yore” now!) – I’m going to – figuratively – have my white gloves in my purse.  JIC.

In this instance, my “white gloves” will be a wedding-appropriate card just waiting to be signed.

You know.  If a Wedding. Breaks. Out. 😉

It was actually pretty quick and easy and uses one of my favorite (and carrying over!) stamp sets – called Dandelion Wishes.  And I paired it with some new Magnolia Lane DSP!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Inspire. Create Challenge.

And the colors are from the photo at the Card Concept challenge.

I started with some pretty paper from the Magnolia Lane DSP and matted it on Mossy Meadow for the card front.

The sentiment, from Dandelion Wishes, is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a second design from Magnolia Lane.  Over the top, I stamped the dandelion image in Smoky Slate.

I cut the sentiment with a square Stitched Shapes Framelits die and matted it on Mossy Meadow.

Using Glue Dots, I adhered a length of 3/8″ Linen Ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.  Then I popped the matted sentiment over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I made a Double Loop Billie Bow with the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread that’s in the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Over top is a bow made with the Linen Ribbon.

I tucked a couple of silver Leaf Trinkets under the bow/sentiment with Glue Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used the second dandelion image from Dandelion Wishes and added it in stamped-off-once Smoky Slate to a Whisper White panel.  Over the top I added a second Dandelion Wishes sentiment in Tuxedo Black.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Petal Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Smoky Slate dandelions on the front…

…and more of the Magnolia Lane DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I was SO tickled that Dandelion Wishes is carrying over – I just love those pretty images!  And they seem to work really well with the new and wonderful Magnolia Lane DSP, don’t you think?  I hope you like!

  1. Love it! You and I are putting the dandelions to good use this week! It’s funny, I was reading your post and had gotten to the part about the wedding. Chester jumped up on my laptop and had his fingers on some buttons. What he used, brought me immediately to the pic of Finn…hysterical in many ways! Have a great soon-to-be weekend, my friend.

LOL! Even CATS love Finn!! That’s awesome! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. Sweet card! Sounds like a bit of an odd party to me too…but probably much more fun than the white glove events. 😉 Finn is just providing moral support…he’s running with you in spirit while watching from the couch. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Oh for sure! White Gloves are never a good thing! 🙂 Thanks much, Amy! 🙂

  3. Pretty card, Mary! The DSP and ribbon looks beautiful together.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Leslie – it’s such a great suite of goodies! 🙂

  4. Your card is so pretty, Mary. I really love the papers and the flowers. Lovely!

  5. Eunice Stoneman

What a cute non-traditional wedding card for a potential non-traditional wedding. I am sure they will love it, if a wedding does happen to ‘break out’. I love the log cabin quilt on the banister behind Finn. Did you make it?

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you so much, Eunice! I may have to go just to see a Flash-Mob Wedding! 😉 No – I did not make the quilt. My Mom gave that to us for Christmas many years ago. It’s an antique – complete with muslin “Beard guard”! Definitely one of my treasures!

  6. Connie Kissel

Beautiful card. Hilarious Finn Fan Fix. I can relate. You keep me healthy with laughter each day. I so look forward to your posts. For your creativity of course 😉 thanks. God Bless. Connie from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Been crazy week but I try to never miss your posts. I love the card…haven’t inked the dandelion set yet but will put this one on my list to CASE when I do! Yep, Finn-man has the right idea. I’d be fighting him for the couch!

    • stampsnlingers

He’d share with you! It’s a big couch and he’s a cuddler! Thanks very much, Susan – hope your weekend is a little less crazy! 🙂

  9. Such a pretty card – I really love how you used the ribbon. Thanks so much for joining us at The Card Concept.
