Stampin’ Up! Hello Sweet Cupcake Birthday!

Good morning!  How goes your week?  Did you see that the Organdy Ribbon Pack is back in stock?

Want me to give you a minute to hurry over and place a quick $50 order to get yours?  If you’re WANTING it – and you haven’t already ORDERED it…yea, you might want to get on that.  It probably won’t last for long, y’all!

I’ll wait until you get back.  Here’s a link to my online store – see? I’m here to help! 😉

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk…birthday card!  With cupcakes from the Hello Cupcake stamp set – cut out with the Call Me Cupcake Framelits (part of the SAB Coordination goodies!)!  And a lot of color thanks to the How Sweet It Is DSP.  Put your 😎 on and take a look-see:

I DID warn you!

This bright explosion of color and the layout both come from this week’s FUSION challenge.

And the birthday theme plays right along with the Just Us Girls word week challenge.

Finally – check out the Global Design Project Theme challenge!  Boom!

I started with the rainbow…connection…someday we’ll find it…..🐸🌈

Sorry.

As I was saying – I started with some rainbow paper from the How Sweet It Is DSP, matted on Pineapple Punch for the card front.

In the middle of the card front, I adhered a Pearlized Doily with Liquid Glue.  Then I wrapped a length of Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green 3/8″ Reversible Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

I stamped a sentiment from the Sweetest Thing stamp set in Melon Mambo on a piece of Whisper White, then I cut it out with a Rectangle Stitched Framelits die.

Next to the sentiment, in Pineapple Punch, I stamped the cupcake from the Hello Cupcake stamp set.  On a second piece of Whisper White, I stamped the frosting (from Hello Cupcake) in Pineapple Punch. I added some Melon Mambo sprinkles and cut it out with the die from the SAB Coordination’s Call Me Cupcake Framelits.

I popped the sentiment onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added the frosting with more dimensionals.

I tied a small bow from the Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green 3/8″ Reversible Ribbon and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.  Then I added a few Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dots and the card front was done

On the inside, I added a Melon Mambo sentiment from Hello Cupcake to a Whisper White panel.  Over top, I stamped some Pineapple Punch sprinkles.  Then I added a Pineapple Punch-matted strip of How Sweet It Is DSP and a Glitter Enamel Dot.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pineapple Punch mat and into my Coastal Cabana card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some Hello Cupcake sprinkles in Melon Mambo and Pineapple Punch across the front.  Then I added a second sentiment – from Hello Cupcake – in Melon Mambo…

…and I added a little more rainbow to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think this looks like a party-on-a-card!  And it IS – thanks to the Sweetest Thing stamp set (2019 Occasions catalog), the Hello Cupcake stamp set (get this one for FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration) and the coordinating Call Me Cupcake Framelits (only available until the end of March!).  The How Sweet It Is DSP is chock-a-block full of fun, bright designs, too!  I hope you like!

  1. Sweet card! That’s a bright yellow cupcake for sure!! 🙂 Fun design.

Poor soggy reindeer…he’s smiling while he’s drying. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – he’ll take any opportunity to dry out – he has a tendency to stay soggy! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. WOW! I’m glad you gave us all fair warning!! Your card will definitely brighten someone’s day. It was so nice to see a full length photo of Mr. Reindeer. He doesn’t go outside, does he? He looks too clean even with all the wetness he goes through.

    • stampsnlingers

LOL! Finn routinely brings him to the back door when we’re headed out to feed and is terribly disappointed when we tell him Mr. Reindeer has to stay inside. So – not for lack of trying! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  3. Nice card, but not my favorite of all your cards. I guess I just don’t get into the bright colors jumping out at me. You used them well, it just isn’t my fav. Even toys need a rest. Tell me…do you have another one stashed away for when this one is totally trashed?

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – yea – he’s got a few. He’s so funny – he’ll bring the reindeer. I throw it. He goes and gets it and then lays down to love on it a bit. Then he brings me the penguin – repeat. Then the tug/tennis ball – repeat. Back to the reindeer. I love this little funny-face SO much! And no – these aren’t my faves either – but…sometimes ya gotta get out of your comfort zone! Thanks, Julie! 🙂

  4. Susan K

A party on a card for sure. So bright and cheerful. I love the smile on Mr. Reindeer’s face. No wonder Finnman loves it so–it always smiles at him!

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – they’re both smilers. Must be why they’re such good friends – sunny dispositions both! Thanks much, Susan! 🙂

  5. I love this rainbow striped birthday creation! Those fun, bright colors paired with the yummy cupcake make for the perfect birthday card. Love how you did the inside, too. Thanks for playing along with us at JUGS!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Sue – definitely a party-in-paper-and-ink!! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
