Stampin’ Up! Beauty and the Butterflies

Good morning!  Ready for another week?  Hope you are – cuz…it’s happening, people! 😉

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, here’s the sorta-like-Memorex-only-from-this-century version on YouTube!

I pulled out the wonderful Beauty Abounds stamp set and the matching (bundled!) Butterfly Beauty Thinlits, plus a little FREE Botanical Butterfly DSP to make a clean and simple card.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started with some Highland Heather paper from the Botanical Butterfly DSP in the Sale-A-Bration flyer (FREE with a $50 purchase!) and matted it on Basic Black for the card front.

The sentiment, from Beauty Abounds, is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a panel of Whisper White.  I used my Stamparatus to get it all lined up and ensure a good solid image!  I matted that on Basic Black and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the art, I again used the Stamparatus to stamp the pretty floral swirly-do from Beauty Abounds in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White.  When it was totally dry, I cut it with a Rectangle Stitched Framelit die.

I hemmed and hawed for a while about how to color the image and finally decided to go monochromatic.  So I used my Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends – both the Light and Dark – to color just the flowers.  I matted the panel on Basic Black and used Dimensionals to adhere it to the card front.

I added a pop of color with some tiny Daffodil Delight butterflies cut with the handy dies in the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits and adhered here and there with dabs of Liquid Glue. Then I used my Journaling Pen to add some dots around the sentiment and adhered some Pearl Basic Jewels and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Beauty Abounds in Tuxedo Black.  Over that I stamped the “haze” image twice in stamped-off-once Highland Heather.  Then I added a Daffodil Delight butterfly from Beauty Abounds and some more Journaling Pen dots!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more stamped-off-once Highland Heather “haze”, Daffodil Delight butterflies and Journaling Pen dots on the front…

…and some more Botanical Butterfly DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I believe it’s easy to argue that this Beauty Abounds bundle, with the so-gorgeous Butterfly Beauty Thinlits is among the most beautiful sets in the 2019 Occasions catalog, yes?  And y’all have TOLD me in your comments how much you’re loving the Botanical Butterfly DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catty.  So this card is a winner all the way around, don’t you think?  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I hope y’all aren’t tired of seeing Finn-y chillin’.

Cuz – it’s one of his cutest of his MANY millions of cute things.

Also – it’s winter.  We spend a lot of time inside.

And when we DO go outside – the photographer is bundled up so tightly that getting to the camera is a problem.

Hence – lots of pictures of the Man in repose.

The Side-Eye.

The Smugly-Satisfied Smirk.  With the casually-propped hand.

The Ham-bone.

  3. Kate

    VERY nice card!!!
No question…winter, spring, summer, fall…The Finn is ready for his close-up. Bet he would frolic some in this morning’s lovely snow (even if the photographer would not-so-much). 😆

    • stampsnlingers

Nope – the photographer would be huddled in the house by the fire! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  4. Sorry I missed you last night. I should have set my alarm! Enjoyed the video this morning though. Lovely card. You used all elements well! Finn is THE most expressive canine! 🙂
