Stampin’ Up! A Pop of Birthday Statements for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.

I pulled out a new stamp set from the 2019 Occasions catalog, called Birthday Statements.  I love these kind of stamps – big bold sentiments intertwined with graphics.  I added this one to some Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

I’m guessing you can sorta guess our color challenge, huh??

I started with a piece of new Beautifully Detailed DSP.  This laser-cut paper is lovely – and is Whisper White on one side and Petal Pink on the other.  Handy, huh?  I cut out one of the panels and adhered it with Liquid Glue to a Mossy Meadow mat for the card front.

For the art work, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the big Birthday Statements sentiment image in Fresh Fig on a Whisper White panel.  I used my Light and Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends to color the leaves and the Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends for the flowers.  The banner is colored with the Mossy Meadow Blends.  To color the balloons and the little “pom-poms” on the banner, I used a Blender Pen to pick up Fresh Fig ink from the lid of my ink pad.  I brushed some Clear Wink of Stella over the balloons, too.

On a separate piece of Whisper White, I stamped the second sentiment (“happy”) in Fresh Fig and fussy cut it.  Then I popped it over the sentiment panel with a couple of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I matted the panel on Mossy Meadow and wrapped some 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim around it, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

I popped the panel over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added a bow tied from the 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim with a Glue Dot.  The card front is finished off with a few Fresh Fig Frosted Flower Embellishments on the stamped flowers.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Birthday Statements in Fresh Fig to a Whisper White panel.  I pulled out the Pop of Petals stamp set from the Annual Catalog and added the leaves image in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow.  Then I adhered a few Petal Pink Frosted Flower Embellishments.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Petal Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow leaf from Pop of Petals on the front…

…and I used a little Petal Pink paper from the Floral Romance Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh, I love this big, gorgeous image from the Birthday Statements, don’t you?!  These images color so beautifully and need little help to make a big statement!  Oops – see what I did there?!?  Hope you like!

Organdy Ribbon Temporarily Sold Out!

Stampin’ Up! posted the following update:

The Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack (item 149623) may be one of our most popular Sale-A-Bration items ever. It’s been so popular, in fact, that it has exceeded our product forecast and sold out in our North American markets. We have a shipment coming in to fulfill backorders, but because this item has been in such high demand, we have been forced to turn off the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack. Unfortunately, this initial shipment will help us fulfill only orders that have already been placed. Once backorders have been fulfilled, a second shipment will arrive at the beginning of March, which will allow us to turn on this item again; it will be available while supplies last only.

We’re so sorry for the inconvenience.  The good news is that there are lots of great items still available AND new items coming February 15!

  1. Gor gee us!

  2. Very pretty card Mary! Love the background paper peeking around your focal image. Perfect! 🙂

  3. Gorgeous, Mary! But, I wonder why the designer thought it necessary to add that banner to the stamp? That is the only thing I don’t like about it. Great use of that laser cut DSP.
