Stampin’ Up! All My Love Happy Tails Sneak Peek

Good morning from rain-soaked-and-soggy Georgia!  Good golly!  We’ve gotten so much rain in the past day or two – it’s been cray cray!  Hopefully it bodes well for a non-drought-ridden summer!

One of the cool new stamp set bundles in the 2019 Occasions Catalog is called Happy Tails!  The stamp set is bundled up with the Dog Builder Punch.

I’ve been waiting for a good dog stamp set – that would let me make sympathy cards for folks who’ve lost their fur-kids!  Non-cartoon-y ones, and this is a great add to my tool chest!

So – for today, I paired this new bundle with some All My Love DSP to make a sympathy card for the loss of a pet – just to have on hand!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch challenge at FabFriday!

I started with some heart-strewn paper from the new All My Love DSP (coming on 3 Jan!) and matted it on Crumb Cake with some Liquid Glue for the card front.

Then I used a little more Liquid Glue to lay down and adhere a strip of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon.

For the sentiment, I used my Stamparatus (with the foam mat in place!).  I inked the sentiment from Happy Tails with Balmy Blue, then wiped the ink OFF the word “Heart” – and stamped a Whisper White panel.  Then, with my Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Write Marker, I inked “Heart” and stamped it a few times.  Oh, the joy of the Stamparatus!!  Multiple stamps – no wiggling – no worries! 🙂

With the panel still in the Stamparatus, I laid the little paw print stamp over the “heart” then picked it up with the Stamparatus acrylic panel.  I inked the stamp with Crumb Cake, laid a little piece of scrap paper down to protect my sentiment and stamped the paw off one time.  Then I pulled the scrap paper out and stamped the image onto the sentiment.  Does that make sense?

I cut the sentiment with a circle Stitched Shapes Framelits die and popped it over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The dog outline is stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White.  I added his spots with Crumb Cake – easy to do since this is a photopolymer set!  He (she?) got a Flirty Flamingo collar and then I punched her out with the Dog Builder Punch.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue to adhere her to the sentiment/card front.

Finally, I punched a little heart from Lovely Lipstick card stock using the Dog Builder Punch and popped it on with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Happy Tails sentiment in Balmy Blue on a Whisper White panel.  Then I “walked” the paw print image in Crumb Cake across the bottom!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crumb Cake mat and then into my Lovely Lipstick card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

I walked more Crumb Cake paw prints across the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope…

…and added more All My Love DSP to the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  What a perfect pair!  All My Love DSP to celebrate the love we have for our fur-kids and the Happy Tails stamp set is wonderful over the top, don’t you think?  I LOVE that we can color the pup with large spots – or small – all with the stamp set.  Then just punch him out with the bundled Dog Builder Punch!  Hope you like -and have added this bundle to your list!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn’s Christmas present receiving was sort of extended on Christmas Day.  After dinner, Wayne and Matt (one of our surrogate kids!) came over to put Bo’s water in his food to soak.

And when they returned, they brought the Man back for the present opening and a little rough housing with the other four-legged kids.

He.  Had.  A.  Blast.

After we got home he completely crashed.  Out like a light.

During the present opening, he got some new chew toys.  Including the current front-runner – a tennis-ball-rope-tug-toy thingy.

It’s really easy to hold in his ginormous hands!!  Don’t even need a thumb – let alone TWO! 😉

  1. What’s not to love about this set and the Nine Lives one! Hopefully, you will keep this card in your stash for a long time. I wish they’d make a set of different breeds that would be distinktive stamps…wouldn’t that be awesome. Finn would pose, I’m sure!!

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – really hope I do NOT need it any time soon. And yes – some dog breeds as InstINKtives would be very cool! Finn would be an awesome model! 🙂 Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  2. Kate

Sadly, a very useful card to have at hand. And a nice one.
New toys are good. Thumbs over-rated.

    • stampsnlingers

True that, Mom – on both counts! He gets a LOT done without a thumb in sight! 🙂

  3. What a sweet card! The designer paper is just perfect. Sweet picture of Finn, yep all worn out on Christmas Day…just like a typical kid! Thanks for joining us at Fab Friday, hope to see you again soon!

  4. So fun, Mary – I just used mine for the first time yesterday, too! Love the heart paper you’ve used, and the two-tone sentiment is brilliant. Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

  5. Bernice Pega

Love the card and the new stamp set. I have one from years ago that is similar but did not have as many stamps… great to have a punch to go along with the set.. for sure on my list…

Love the pictures of Finn… my Sadie also got a few new toys from Santa… it was so wonderful to see her play with them since with her back problems since July she doesn’t want to play much but at least she is walking better than when all these problems started in July.

    Happy New Year.

    • stampsnlingers

Glad Sadie is doing better – it’s always so painful to watch when they don’t feel good! 🙁 Some new toys are always a bit of a boost! Thanks, Bernice! 🙂

  6. What a lovely card to remember someone’s beloved fur baby! I love all the hearts and the feelings of love. Very sweet card but I hope you don’t have to use it anytime soon! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!

    • stampsnlingers

Me, too – hopefully it just sits and gathers dust! Thanks very much, Amanda! 🙂
