Stampin’ Up! Festive Hung With Care Christmas!

Morning, y’all!  It’s Tuesday!

Arntcha glad I show up every morning to keep you on track with the days of the week?

It’s National Math Storytelling Day. Apparently Math Storytelling is a thing.

Also…did you know that September is Velociraptor Awareness Month?

Yes – it’s true.  You still have time to send a handmade card to your favorite neighborhood velociraptor.  I know he or she will appreciate it.  Probably more than if you try to tell him or her a math story…

You’re welcome.

Perhaps the card will be a Christmas card – and you might want to make this one.  It uses the Host-Exclusive Hung With Care stamp set.  And some wonderful Festive Farmhouse DSP plaid paper.  Take a look-see:

Being that it’s a Christmas card, I played along with the TGIF Challenge this week!

I started with some of that pretty paper and matted it on Basic Gray card stock for the card front!

Then, on a smaller panel of Very Vanilla card stock, I stamped the fun sentiment and three “hangers” from the Hung With Care stamp set, in Cherry Cobbler ink.

I embossed the panel in the new Tufted Dynamic TIEF and matted it on Basic Gray before adhering it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped three stockings from the set on another piece of Very Vanilla.  I recruited my Stamparatus and, using the marker-to-rubber technique, I colored them with my Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Markers.  Then I fussy cut them.

I popped each fussy-cut stocking onto the card front with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish off, I tied three little bows from Linen Thread and adhered them on each stocking with a dab of Liquid Glue!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Hung With Care in Cherry Cobbler to a Very Vanilla card stock.  Another stocking in the corner was all it needed to be done!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Gray mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another stocking on the front…

…and I added some more of the Festive Farmhouse DSP to the flap.

Et Voila!  Easy peasy, nice and…cozy?  Well – the rhyme sort of fails me, but…the Hung With Care stamp set won’t fail you, I promise!  But to get it. you’ll need to get you some Stampin’ Rewards – cuz that’s the only “currency” that’ll work for a Host-Exclusive set!  Give me a holler and we’ll get you hooked up!

Finn Fan Fix

Each morning, after we’ve fed and let the horses eat their breakfast and (since we often slow-roll heading back out) take a little after-breakfast nap (it IS important to let your food digest, right?) – we sweep the aisle.

Cuz we’re neat freaks.

ROFL!!!

Anywho – Finn does try to help.

We sweep everything to one end of the aisle into a little pile so we can pick it up and put it in the spreader.

Hmm.  Standing IN the pile…

Does that make any sort of sense – I mean…if “helping” is the plan?

Wait…what’s that?

Appears he’s not “helping” at all.

Nope.  He’s mining horse hoof parings.

Cuz…yum!

  2. Gerri Knego

    Mary,
I love this card!! The Farmhouse dsp is perfect with the stockings. I regret not ordering this set with my last big order.
Also, love the pics of Finn.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – it’s a really cute stamp set! Thanks so much, Gerri! 🙂

  3. Your card is very cute. I had to look up the “v” word BUT I don’t get the title of your post…is it a math story?

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – let’s go with “yes”?? Actually, it’s what is sent when someone forgets to put a title on their post. Like I apparently did this morning! But – it DOES sorta fit with National Math Storytelling Day! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  4. Rebecca Rich

Love this card. You really put me in the mood for making Christmas cards, now.

  5. Lovely card. One day I will meet Funny Finn. Thank you for sharing.

  6. Kate

Really swell card!!! No veloci-whatever would get mine, no matter how it adds up…adds up…get it? 😉
Horse hoof parings. Different hor d’oerves for different folks.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – only dogs like them, I guess! Yea – I see what you did there! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

Mary such a cute card, and the embossing, wish I remembered to use it more, so thanks for the remind. Love that Fin. What a guy! Donna says “HI”. Can’t wait till Nov.

    • stampsnlingers

Hi back! And yes – he’s a total dude!! Thanks, Jean. I’m counting the days! 🙂

  8. Susan K

Cute card. I think that EF is my current favorite one and it adds good texture to this sweet card. Mining horse hoof parings–could be a new Olympic event and Finn is in training.

    • stampsnlingers

Possible! I’ll have to make sure he maintains his amateur status! 😉 Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂
