Stampin’ Up! Very Vintage Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! We’ve got a cool sketch today, and I hope you’ll check out everyone’s projects when you’re done here!

I went back to the Very Vintage host-exclusive stamp set for my birthday card today (cuz I love love LOVE it!) – and added a card front using the new Handwritten background stamp.  Take a look-see:

And, when you see our sketch, you’ll realize that I flipped the sketch to a portrait orientation.  Ish.

I started with a piece of Tranquil Textures DSP and, in Crumb Cake ink, stamped the wonderful new Handwritten image.  I know you’re going to want this stamp quick-as-a-bunny when the catalog goes live on 1 June.  It’s gorgeous!

Going back to an old – and returning! – love, I matted the panel on Mint Macaron card stock.

I cut out a large Vellum card stock scalloped circle with the Circles Layering framelits and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

The art panel is the same paper I used on the card front.  On it, in Crumb Cake ink, I stamped the massively, amazingly wonderfully wondrous flower image from the Very Vintage host-exclusive set.  I used my Petal Pink and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Write Markers to add the barest, tiniest bit of color to the image.  It’s matted on a Mint Macaron Stitched Shapes Framelits square and popped onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the sentiment banners – I stamped Happy Birthday in Mint Macaron on Vellum and Dear Friend in Crumb Cake on the Tranquil Textures DSP.  I snipped both banners into…well…banners and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

I made a double loop Billie Moan bow from Linen Thread.  For this one – instead of doing 2-sets of 4 loops, I only did 2-sets of TWO loops.  Still got the causal bow, but with less bulk.  A little…lighter feel!

I adhered a little Corrugated Elements tag to the end of the sentiment banners with Liquid Glue.  Over that I added a small True Gentleman Button with a Glue Dot.  Then came the Linen Thread bow.  Finally, I tied a plain bow with some Mint Macaron twine from the Nature’s Twine pack (coming on 1 June) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I stamped the Very Vintage flowers in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake up the side of a Very Vanilla card stock panel.  Once again, I colored the flowers with my Petal Pink and Mint Macaron Markers.

I matted the panel on Mint Macaron and into my Crumb Cake card base with Liquid Glue, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Very Vintage flowers on the front…

…and on the envelope flap, I added more Tranquil Textures DSP and stamped it all over with the lace image from iVery Vintage with stamped-off-once Crumb Cake.

Et Voila!  This is another requested birthday card, so I hope it’ll work!  Very Vintage.  My peeps – I can’t think of a better reason to do whatever it takes to get Stampin’ Rewards than to get this Host-Exclusive stamp set!  Host a workshop.  Place an order large enough to earn Stampin’ Rewards.  Join my next Online Host Club.  Whatever.  It.  Takes.  You need this stamp set!  Hope you like!

Gorgeous card Mary! What did you use to stamp on the art panel before you stamped the image?

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks very much, Jean! The paper behind the art image is a piece of the Tranquil Textures DSP – the paper is two sided and one side had this pretty sort of “suede-y” pattern on it. I used it straight as it was and stamped the Very Vintage image on it! 🙂
