Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Varied Vases Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! It’s sketch week and we’ve got the full complement of hoppers today!  Do be sure to check out all their projects when you’re done here, won’t you?

I decided to play with one of the new stamp sets – actually a bundle! – in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  It’s Mary Fish’s Million Dollar set – called Varied Vases.  It’ll be available to customers on 1 June and will be bundled with the Vases Builder Punch.  To round it all out, I used the beautiful new Nature’s Poem DSP.  Take a look-see:

Our sketch for the hop challenge…

This Photopolymer stamp set and punch are really nice – the images are crisp and very easy to line up, and the sentiments are nicely varied for lots of different occasions!

I started by Fast Fusing a piece of the Nature’s Poem DSP to a Cajun Craze mat for the card front.  Then I made the DSP strip – it’s the other side of the card front design! – matting it on Cajun Craze as well.

I used a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon over the DSP.

With the Leaf Punch, I cut 4 Vellum card stock leaves and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the art/sentiment, I cut a Stitched Shapes circle from Whisper White card stock.  With the line image from the Varied Vases set, I stamped the flower outline in Soft Suede.  Then I added the color – with a fill-in image – in new Grapefruit Grove (coming on 1 June!).  I also used Grapefruit Grove to add the pretty little Varied Vases sentiment.

On a piece of scrap Whisper White, I stamped the vase image in Cajun Craze and punched it out using the Vases Builder Punch.  Then I popped it over the stem of the flower with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added more Dimensionals to the back of the circle and used them to wind a few loops of Linen Thread, then I popped it all onto the card front.

A tiny bow of Linen Thread on the vase and a single Pearl Basic Jewel finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Varied Vases in Grapefruit Grove on a Whisper White panel.  I added the flower image again – this  time stamping the images off twice before stamping the panel.  And then I added one more little Pearl Basic Jewel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into my Soft Suede card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another of the Soft Suede and Grapefruit Grove Varied Vases flowers on the front.  And I added a Cajun Craze vase…

…and the envelope flap got some more of the Nature’s Poem DSP.

Et Voila!  Folks – Varied Vases is such a wonderful stamp set and when combined with the bundled Vases Builder – I do believe this is going to be a heavy favorite when the new catalog goes live on 1 June!  And, there aren’t enough superlatives for the Nature’s Poem DSP – it is just so gorgeous!  Hope you like – and are busily adding it to your GottaHaveItGottaGetItNow list!! 🙂
