Stampin’ Up! Carols of Christmas Whimsy

Happy Monday, y’all – not even an oxymoron today!  I don’t have to work – so I hope I’m still asleep when this hits your inbox!  As I write it on Sunday night, I’m still pumped up from sharing this Christmas card with some of you on my Facebook Live video last night.  And – I think I’m getting used to the altitude, so…I’m not dragging as bad as I have been.  Whoo-hoo!! 🙂

If you were able to join me last night, I surely do appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If not, here’s the link to the video on YouTube, in case you want to take a look.

I used several stamp sets for this one – the Carols of Christmas, a little of the Host-Exclusive Seasons of Whimsy set and one of my very favorites – Christmas Happiness.  All of these wonderful stamp sets are showcased on the pretty Merry Music Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

To begin, I stamped the pine bough from the Christmas Happiness set twice in Garden Green on the top of a piece of Merry Music Specialty DSP.  It was a coincidence that I used the music from Deck the Halls!

Or…was it?!? 😉

I also added some lights from Christmas Happiness – I stamped them in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored them with my new Stampin’ Blend markers (coming soon – but we don’t know when!!) in Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight (so – yes, you could use Stampin’ Write Markers, too!).

I heat embossed the sentiment, from Carols of Christmas, in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get it positioned where I wanted it.  Then, I cut two medium length pine boughs from Lemon Lime Twist card stock, using the dies in the Pretty Pines Thinlits, and adhered them over the stamped boughs with Liquid Glue.  At this point, I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Gold Foil mat.

For the Season of Whimsy ornaments, I stamped all three in Versamark on some Whisper White card stock, sprinkled them with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  Then I fussy cut them and colored them with my Pool Party and Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend Markers.

Using Glue Dots, I “strung” some Silver Mini-Sequin Trim in my pine boughs, then I adhered the two Pool Party ornaments with Liquid Glue and popped the third on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I tied a bow in Night of Navy 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  I also adhered the tails of the ribbon with Glue Dots – to keep them where I wanted them.  I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the top ornament and the card front was done!

On the inside, I heat embossed two more ornaments from Season of Whimsy in Silver on a Whisper White mat and colored them with my Pool Party and Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Gold Foil mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Silver embossed Pool Party Season of Whimsy ornament on the front…

…And some strategically chosen Merry Music Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the idea of stamping on sheet music and this pretty Merry Music Specialty DSP lets us do that so easily!  And what better to add than pine boughs and a lovely sentiment?  I think the Carols of Christmas and the Season of Whimsy images are so pretty nestled in the pines from Christmas Happiness!  Hope you like! 🙂

  1. It’s so enjoyable to watch you make your cards and your videos. Hope you got a good night’s rest and that you will enjoy your Monday mojo.

  2. What a pretty card Mary! Love the colors that you used and your stamping and coloring is just perfect! 🙂

  3. This is so pretty, I a1m loving your color choices, and the bow is great! Super job, Mary, I love stamped images on that DSP

  4. Kate

    Very festive indeed!
Coupled with 4-6″ new snow on the deck, I fancy I hear sleighbells and strains of Deck the Halls.

  5. Pat Christ

What a beautiful card, love it! I’m on the look out for Christmas card ideas and this is definitely a contender.

  6. Wow! you have done it again. You haven’t lost your Mojo, but if you get overworked or too tired, it sort of takes a rest. At least for me anyway. Enjoyed your video after the fact. My granddaughter came about 20 minutes before you went live, and stayed a couple of hours. When the teens want to spend any time with you……you spend time with them! Love her to pieces.
Great card and the video was nice, but not as much fun as when I can join live. 🙂

    • Yep – it took a break for sure! Glad you got to see it – even if in Memorex. And you are right – if they want to spend time with you – gotta do it! Thanks much, Julie! 🙂

  7. Susan K

Enjoyed it live and it’s just as pretty in pictures! I love the stamping on sheet music too and the big words embossed in gold make a big statement! I’m all into your layering too. TFS.
