Stampin’ Up! Z-Fold Snowy Carols of Christmas

Good morning, y’all – it’s Monday.

Again.

How in the world does the weekend fly by so darned fast?!?  Sigh…

If you were able to join me last night on my Facebook Live video – thanks so much!  I hope you enjoyed it.  If not, here’s a link to the video on YouTube!

The layout on the front panel was inspired by the sketch this week at the Fusion challenge blog!

The video shows you step-by-step how to make this card.  It starts with a Pool Party base, cut to 5 1/2″ x 10 3/4″ and scored and folded at 4 1/4″ and then at 3 1/4″ from that fold. One cool thing about this kind of card is that it fits inside a normal A2-sized envelope! 🙂

The large end panel – which is the same size as the inside of a regular A2 card – is stamped with the little sparkle image from Carols of Christmas in Pool Party ink and the flourish in Tranquil Tide.  I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line the images up.

The sentiment, also from Carols of Christmas, is stamped in Tranquil Tide on a piece of Whisper White card stock, matted on Tranquil Tide and then Fast Fuse’d into the card on the center panel.

Z-Fold Carols of Christmas - Stamps-N-Lingers 2

The video shows you how I decorated the front of the card.  I cut two of the tree die cuts with the Card Front Builder Thinlits from the same Delightful Daisy DSP and then covered them with Fine-Tip Glue.  Then I sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter and let them dry.  I cut the moon and stars from a scrap of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using the “night sky” die in the Card Front Builder and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

The trees are popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – first the single tree, then I added the Basic Black Archival ink deer with Liquid Glue, then the double tree die cut.  Finally, I wrapped a piece of Pool Party Solid Baker’s Twine around the panel and tied a bow.  Then I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

I added more of the Carols of Christmas sparkle and flourish images across the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope…

…and gave the envelope flap a covering of Delightful Daisy DSP.

Et Voila! Yet another card made beautiful by the new Carols of Christmas bundle, which includes the gorgeous Card Front Builder Thinlits!  Hope you like!

You can get the bundle tomorrow, y’all!  Hope you’re sitting by your computer anxiously awaiting their arrival!

 BLOG CANDY WINNER!!

Here’s what our lucky winner will receive!

  • Daisy Delight stamp set
  • Daisy Punch
  • Wood Textures DSP Stack

Thanks to all of you who left a comment saying why you think this Daisy Punch has been so darned popular!  I think y’all have hit it on the head a few times over!  Whatever reason is your favorite – only one person can win! 🙁

I entered the number of comments in my handy dandy Random Number Generator and….drum roll…

It selected comment number 8 which was from Pat Christ!   Pat wrote:

“Tho I couldn’t live without my Big Shot, sometimes it’s nice to have a punch. You can sometimes create a project much faster with a punch, especially if you have multiples to make.
Love that silly Mr. Finn, always brings a smile!”

Congratulations, Pat – I’ll be sending you an e-mail shortly so I can get your mailing address and then I’ll get your goodies in the mail to you quick as I can! Whoo-hoo!!! 🙂

Finn-Fan Fix

Sometimes when I get done with my dinner, I’ll put my plate on the floor for Finn.

Don’t judge me.  He looks so pitiful.  And we never let him lick pork or onions or chocolate!

The cats used to be the recipient of the floor-plate.

They’re not quite resigned to this new world order!

This picture requires no narrative other than to say the two cats are staring at him with intent just outside the camera frame.

Never too sure what a cat might do….don’t even think about it!

  1. Your card is stunning! I will watch the video while Perry is getting his antibiotics. Things have been cray cray here and I haven’t been in the card room since Thursday and haven’t been able to blog. I just wanted to take a minute to tell you I love your card.

    • Thanks, Karen – and you guys be safe – weather’s showing a big storm going to soak you (if it isn’t already!). Say hey to Perry and…prayers to you both. 🙂

  2. Just beautiful Mary! Love the touches of glitter on the trees and on your die cuts, perfect colors too! 🙂

  3. Beautiful card, Mary. I missed the live feed again! Ugh! But love the fact that I can still see it! 🙂

  4. Kathelyn Bush

Mary, Love the card! But, I didn’t see the link for the video…looked and looked…am I missing it? Love, love the Finn-Fan Fix……..Can’t decided which comes first, Fin or your creations! LOL! Must be Finn, because I find myself scrolling down to Finn first, then going back to read about your cards!

    • Thanks so much, Kathelyn! The video should come up when you click the picture at the beginning of the post. The picture itself is the link! I sure hope that works for you. If not, please let me know! 🙂

  5. Elisha

Beautiful card! I love the glittery trees and the special fold – great video last night! Lol! So Finn is your pre-wash cycle? We have one of those too – when my daughter isn’t looking😆 Have a great week!

  6. Kate

    Card good as advertised!
Ah, Finn…people food not so bueno for the furries, but am sure you are enjoying every lick.

    • So – fat girl on a diet. Not much “food” left on the plate!! Mostly essence! And bragging rights over the cats! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  7. Kate

    I know…been there!

  8. Another stunning, beautiful card! Love, love, love it! Finn looks pretty possessive of that plate!

  9. Kathy L

Once again I missed the live performance. Darn family, why do they keep having birthdays? 😁
Love your card! Those colors are gorgeous. I am in awe of your patience. SAMJ, stamp, turn…repeat…repeat…
One more thing; just address your envelope upside down! The back will definitely be noticed that way.

    • LOL – since I really do NOT have the patience that the video seems to indicate that I DO have – I probably WILL just address it upside down. Like a boss!! Thanks, Kathy! 🙂

  10. Your monochromatic colour scheme is just stunning on this Mary – a great take on the sketch! Thanks for playing along at Fusion!

  11. Diann L Benafield

I just wanted you to know I really enjoy your videos! Love your instructions and your vocabulary. LOL Will be back for more.
