Stampin’ Up! Wild About Daisies!

Mornin’, y’all and happy Hawwmp Day!

I wanted to quickly remind you that I’ve got a couple three openings left in my upcoming Online Host Clubs – these are great ways to earn host rewards!  I’ve got all the details on my Online Host Club page, so check it out.  And then get your name on the list!

Speaking of hosts…we found out that Stampin’ Up! will be offering an extra $35 in Stampin’ Rewards for qualifying orders or parties over $350 in June!  We’ll get more details on the 30th, and I’ll be passing them on lickety-split.  In the meantime, be thinking about how you’d spend an extra $35 of free money!

For today, I made a pretty, flowery and feminine card with the Wild About Flowers stamp set, and a few favorite goodies from the new Delightful Daisy Suite.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

I started with a beautiful piece of paper from the Delightful Daisy DSP and matted it on a piece of Peekaboo Peach card stock.

The next layer is a rectangle of Whisper White card stock.  Using the images in the Wild About Flowers stamp set, I stamped several stems in Old Olive ink.  Then I added flowers in Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder and Peekaboo Peach.  I SNAILd the panel to a Peekaboo Peach mat and then onto my card front.

I used a length of Tranquil Tide 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon, looping it around and securing it in place with some strategically placed Glue Dots.  This ribbon, available on 1 June, is just lovely – it’s thin enough to be pliable but it’s got enough heft to do what you need it to do!  And it’s going to be available in all the new 2017-2019 In Colors!  And – you could get a couple of yards in each color in my Catalog Shares.  Check those out right here – still have a few spots open!

My flower is made from two punched Whisper White daisies that I cut with the Daisy Punch.  I adhered them together with a bit of Liquid Glue and then stamped one of the flower middles from the Daisy Delight stamp set, in So Saffron ink.

My sentiment is from the Eastern Beauty stamp set, stamped in Tranquil Tide on Whisper White.  I snipped a banner end and edged it with my Peekaboo Peach Stampin’ Write Marker.

I popped the daisy on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added the sentiment with a Glue Dot.  Over the middle of the flower, I added a new Gold Faceted Gem.  And yes – that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used the large stem from Wild About Flowers and stamped it in Old Olive in the center of a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the image off twice before stamping the panel.  The flowers are added in stamped-off-twice Calypso Coral ink.  I added a sentiment from the Daisy Delight stamp set in Tranquil Tide.

I SNAILd the panel to a Peekaboo Peach mat and into my Tranquil Tide card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a full-strength Old Olive and Calypso Coral flower on the front…

…and I added a slightly different paper from the Delightful Daisy DSP to the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I love this Wild About Flowers stamp set – the images are so simple and beautiful!  And the way it just meshes with the Delightful Daisy is simply…wait for it….Delightful!!  Hope you like and are anxious to get this new Suite in your hands!!  And already have Wild About Flowers!!

Finn-Fan Fix…

Well – it spent a lot of the day raining here.

Almost-one-year-old Aussies love the rain!

And it’s never raining too much to play in and around the pond.

But, almost-one-year-old Aussies also know that our actions have consequences!  He’s smart that way.

  1. OMGee, Finn is so dang cute underneath that towel…and those little wet hand prints on the floor…Well, this blog IS about your card, right? Dang, what a remarkable use of the banner for the sketch. Your stamped flowers look almost real. That DSP knocks my socks off, along with your creation. Love it!

  2. juliejphoto

Had to laugh at Finn in the towel!!!
Love, love, love the card. That Daisy DSP is SOOOO nice. Great design and color choices, too.

  3. Beki Rich

I just love this Daisy set and I don’t even have it yet. Thanks for all the ideas you have been giving for little touches on the envelopes. ~Beki

  4. Kathleen VanDeVeere

    Really really really pretty card!!!
And those consequences are nothin’ compared to what prompted them! It’s all about balance, dontcha know. I would love to see him in the snow.

  5. Love your card today! Great colors and design, such pretty colors too! Sweet picture of the soggy dog. 🙂

  6. Wow, Mary, I love your take on that sketch. Beautifully done! 🙂

  7. Sandra Warthen

Love this card. That DSP is gorgeous.

  8. Susan K

Maybe it’s because Finn is at the bottom of the blog post and we’ve ended wtih him is why we want to comment on him first! Cute pic of him under the towel. Gorgeous card! I love all about it. I can’t wait to get that paper; your bouquet of flowers is striking; and the daisy on that ribbon tops it all off. I love the inside as much–my third generation stamping is never that even–hints? Thanks for sharing your time and talent–and puppy–with us.

    • That could be! I loved the pic of him in the towel – reminded me of ET in the bike basket!! Thanks for the nice words on my card – I love love love this paper!! Third generation stamping…yes, it can be a bit tricky. I wish I had a tip – the truth is I sometimes have to start over. On this one, I had a couple of spots that weren’t as faded as the others. But – I got lucky and it was covered by the sentiment. Be sure to use a squishy mat on the photopolymer stamps. And hold your mouth just right!! Oh. And some finger crossing is often useful! Wish I had better advice! 🙂

  9. Elisha

Beautiful card! Those two stamp sets blend perfectly! Love it!! And oh yes, the dreaded towel treatment – pitiful 😂

    • Thanks much, Elisha! Finn actually enjoys the towel game! He waits for me to dry him off then he grabs the corner of the towel in case I might want a little game of tug!! But he can look about as pitiful as they come, can’t he?? 🙂

  10. Paula

The card is lovely! Am completely in love with that DSP! And using the different paper on the envelope is so close a match! Hard to tell it’s not the same.
Finn is so cute! You are a patient Mom to allow him to play in the rain and the pond and then leave prints all over your floor! Under the towel does remind me of the ET movie as well.
Thanks for sharing Finn with us and thanks for sharing your talent with us as well.

    • Yes, it’s gorgeous paper, for sure!! Thanks so much, Paula! And yes – patience is a big requirement!! 🙂

  11. Wanda Cullen

Beautiful floral design…inside and out! Thanks so much for joining us at Mojo Monday!
