Stampin’ Up! Grateful Bunch and Petite Pairs Any Occasion card

Good morning! By the time you read this, I should be (all things being equal!) sitting on an airplane with Amy Koenders. Getting ready to wing our way to Salt Lake City. OnStage, baby!

Now, for those of you who don’t know me – I’m not really a “whoo-hoo”-er. I’ve been known to be a “WHOOP!”-er – but only at horse shows and only when my fave gaited Saddlebred is passing in front of me and I’m showing my support.

I. Don’t. Whoo-hoo. At least not “for real” – I might do it in jest…but that’s it!

Miss Amy said a scary thing the other day while we were on a Google Hangout meeting. It had to do with her plan to whoo-hoo on the plane.

A Lot.

🙁

I’m very much hoping she was joshin’ me! Otherwise, I’ll be obligated to disavow her. At least for the duration of the flight! Do lots of sleeping or pretending to sleep. Put my headphones in – hopefully there’s a good movie…

We’ll see what happens!

Any-hooch. Let’s talk about my card for today, shall we? 🙂

I went back to my favorite bundle in the Occasions catalog – the Grateful Bunch bundle. I played with some watercoloring and punching and and some Timeless Textures and then I added a sentiment from Petite Pairs. Fair warning….put yer shades on and take a look-see:

This is my interpretation of the sketch challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch, #167:

CTS 167 Sketch

I started by making a watercolor panel with the 2014-2016 In Colors – kind of an homage!  Using my Aqua Painter and the ink-in-the-ink-pad-lid method, I created my “art” – on a piece of my Canson 90Lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper.  This method is where you squeeze the closed ink pad so the lid picks up ink from the pad and then you pick that ink up with your pen.  I didn’t use a lot of water – it was actually just damp enough to spread the ink.

Then, using Basic Black Archival Ink – I stamped the large flower (the large one that’s in the three-image stamp) from Grateful Bunch all over my dry panel.  Using the Blossom Bunch punch, I punched out all the flowers.  And I very gently rolled their petals with a bone folder.

For the card front, I used a Whisper White panel and stamped the splotches and splats image from Timeless Textures over the top portion of the panel, in Tangelo Twist.  I also took a moment to sponge the edges of the panel in Blackberry Bliss.

And then I just lined up my watercolored blossoms and stuck them down with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  Easy peasy!

For the sentiment, I stamped the Petite Petals phrase in Blackberry Bliss on a strip of Whisper White.  I fussy cut a banner on each end, and edged it with my Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it over the bottom row of flowers.

I SNAILd the panel to a mat of Tangelo Twist card stock.  And added a large Rhinestone Basic Jewel to each of the flower centers. The card front was done.  How quick was that?? 🙂

Grateful Bunch Petite Pairs 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

For the inside, I kept it real simple – just a Whisper White panel with more Blackberry Bliss sponging – matted on Tangelo Twist.  Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I added the secondary sentiment from Petite Pairs in Blackberry Bliss in the middle and that was it!

Grateful Bunch Petite Pairs 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I SNAILd the liner into my Blackberry Bliss card base and popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more Tangelo Twist splotches and splats from Timeless Textures…

…and a liner cut from a Lost Lagoon piece of the 2014-2016 In Colors DSP Stack, using my Envelope Liner Framelits.

Grateful Bunch Petite Pairs 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  I so love this stamp and punch set.  And I’m really kind of loving how the little flowers look cut so randomly from that one piece of watercolored paper!  What do you think?

So – when you’re stocking up on the 2014-2016 In Colors – don’t forget the DSP Stack, okay?  It’s a great value – you get a lot of paper, ready to do whatever you need to do!

Tomorrow is Thursday, so that means Happy Stampers Blog Hop!  We’ll go live at 7am Eastern – and we’re doing a sketch challenge this week!  Hope you’ll stop by and hop a little!

TTFN!

Mary
