Stampin’ Up! Bloomin’ Heart Forever

Good 50th-Super-Bowl-morning!  I’ll make the assumption that you’re prepping your Game Day goodies for all the fans in your house.  I mean – isn’t that what everyone is doing?  I don’t watch a lot of football, it’s true.  But I almost never miss the Super Bowl.  I admit to liking the commercials – but I also enjoy the game itself.  I seldom care much one way or the other who wins – although I’ve always picked someone to root for by half-time! – but this year, with the Broncos playing, I feel a familial obligation to root for the them.  I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like Tom Brady, though.  They’re both really super QB’s – so I’m thinkin’ it’s gonna to be a rockin’ game! 🙂

This is a quick card – it looks harder by far than it is.  And aren’t those the very best kind?  It uses the gorgeous new Bloomin’ Heart Bundle, a couple of sentiments from the First Sight stamp set and some cardstock.  Easy.  Take a look-see:

Bloomin' Heart Forever 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Okay – let’s just address the elephant in the room, shall we?  I know there’s a little tiny Melon Mambo splotch on my heart.  I don’t know exactly how or when it got there.  Suspect it’s like me and a white t-shirt…. 😉  I almost didn’t share this one with you, but I figured you could see beyond that tiny splotch and know that you could CASE it and just leave that little “embellishment” off!  So, now that that’s out of the way…

I started by cutting the intricate and gorgeous Bloomin’ Heart Thinlit in a panel of Whisper White card stock.  When I pulled it off the Big Shot, I made absolutely no effort to push the cut heart from the larger panel.  I carefully poked out all the little pieces and parts (wishing with each poke that I’d stuck my waxed paper in my suitcase!).  Then it was a simple matter of SNAILing the panel to its Melon Mambo card stock mat.  I used some little dabs from the Fine-Tip Glue Pen all over the back of the heart itself to adhere it to the mat, along with the SNAIL.

When you CASE this card, if your heart disconnects from the panel in the process, just SNAIL the main portion to the mat, and then use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to carefully adhere the die-cut heart back in its original position!

Bloomin' Heart Forever 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I cut some of the small flowers from the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits from more Whisper White card stock, and used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere them to their counterparts on the heart.  And added a Pearl Basic Jewel to each one.

For the sentiment – I used my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker to color just the word “Forever” on the stamp from the First Sight stamp set.  Then I lined it up with my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get it exactly where I wanted it!

The final piece – yep, told ya it was quick and easy! – was to wrap a strand of Melon Mambo 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the card front – sticking it down in the back with scotch tape – and then added a “faux bow”.  Remember the “faux bow”?  You just take a short length of your ribbon and tie it tightly around the first piece of ribbon.  Trim the ends to suit ya!

Bloomin' Heart Forever 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from First Sight in Melon Mambo onto a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Then I used the heart punch in the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack and punched a little heart out of each corner.

Bloomin' Heart Forever 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

When I SNAILd it onto the Melon Mambo mat, I got instant color and some fun!  I rounded it out by SNAILing the liner into my Whisper White card base and popping the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and that was it for the card!

Bloomin' Heart Forever 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The envelope was equally quick and easy.  I stamped the pretty heart image from Bloomin’ Love (how handy that I got this stamp set all bundled up with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits – for 15% off!!) in Melon Mambo on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope…

Bloomin' Heart Forever 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…and added a liner made from the Love Blossoms DSP, cut with my Envelope Liner Framelit!

Bloomin' Heart Forever 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila! An easy and quick card – for Valentines?  For that best friend that you’ve known forever?  Lots of possible recipients for this clean and crisp card.

Enjoy the Super Bowl – and I’ll be back in your inbox tomorrow!

Beautiful card. I used that framelit without the plate. brush and foam pad and had a hard time cleaning it up. I am going to have to order these supplies as I really like this framelit.

    Thanks for sharing your card.

  5. Thank you, Maureen! Try putting a piece of waxed paper between the thinlit and your card stock! That will make it much easier to get the pieces to come out. Also – be sure that you roll this one back and forth several times thru the Big Shot! Good luck! 🙂
