Stampin’ Up! Hello, Little Sunshine!

Hello hello hello!  Happy Saturday!  I’m writing this on Friday evening, I think we’re getting close to being done and I’m full of Panda Express.  So, in a pretty good mood right now! 🙂

Today’s card uses a couple of Sale-A-Bration free goodies that are going away on the 15th (that’s a week from Monday, OBTW!).  First is the fun stamp set called Hello.  And the second is the pretty 2-sided Perfectly Artistic DSP.  To round it out, I pulled the chick from Honeycomb Happiness and a balloon string from Balloon Celebration!  Take a look-see:

I used The Paper Players Challenge #280 as a guide.  This was a Tic-Tac-Toe week, and I went on the diagonal – using yellow, pink and purple!

PP280 Sketch

I started by SNAILing a piece of the Perfectly Artistic DSP onto a panel of Blackberry Bliss.  Then I started building the card front.  I stamped the uber-cute Honeycomb Happiness chick in Blackberry Bliss and the “Hello”  from the Hello Stamp Set – also in Blackberry Bliss.  For both stamps, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig!

Hello Little Sunshine 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I pulled out my Melon Mambo ink and stamped the smaller sentiment (from Hello) and the little hash-marked lines across the top and the bottom.  Remember my Hint from yesterday about the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig?  About – if you have it, use it?  Well, I shoulda heeded my own advice and used it on the top hash marked line, right?!? 🙂

For the balloon, I took the sentiment from Honeycomb Happiness (a photopolymer set) and curved it as I stuck it to my acrylic block.  Then I inked it with Blackberry Bliss – and then carefully wiped a little off near where it was going to run “thru” the chick’s beak.  I stamped it down, and then touched up the area around the beak with my Stampin’ Write Marker!

Hello Little Sunshine 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Then I punched a small balloon from a piece of It’s My Party DSP with the Balloon Bouquet Punch (which, by the way, I got as a bundle with the Balloon Celebration stamp set!) and popped it on the end of the “string” with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And I brushed it with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (which you could get free right now thru the 15th – scroll down for the details!).  To finish it off, I added a tiny bow – made of Blushing Bride Baker’s Twine and a strand of Gold Metallic Thread – with a little dab of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

I added the little sunshine image from Hello, in Crushed Curry under the sentiment.  Then I used my White Signo Gel Pen to add a little smiley face to the sun!  Yes, I’m just so clever.  I know. 😉

Finally, I used my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker to lightly add some color to the chick’s little beak and feet.  And that was it!

Hello Little Sunshine 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

For the inside, I stamped more of the Hello hashmarks in Melon Mambo across the top and bottom of a panel of Perfectly Artistic DSP.  I also added a couple more of the little sunshine faces!

Hello Little Sunshine 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I SNAILd that to a panel of Blackberry Bliss and then into my Melon Mambo card base.  Then I popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

I added some more Melon Mambo hash marks and a smiley face sunshine to the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope…

Hello Little Sunshine 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…and added a Perfectly Artistic DSP liner with my Envelope Liner Framelits!

Hello Little Sunshine 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  A pink, yellow and purple sunshiny-happy card for…a little human’s birthday?  Maybe a kindergarten graduation? (I know they have those these days).  I hope that you like it – it’s one that’s really grown on me!

If the Hello stamp set and Perfectly Artistic DSP are on your wish list, you’d best be getting them quick!  They may not still be available after the 15th – when we change to a new set of super-cute limited time SAB items! 🙂

  1. Love this! Your little chick is too cute holding the balloon string. Fantastic CAS card! 🙂

  2. Mom

A celebrate string…never saw one, but sure think it is a nifty way to hold a celebratory balloon! And I think that little chickie is growing on me. Sweet little springtime event remembrance!

  3. Thanks, Mom – yes, he’s a cutie! 🙂
