On to the business at hand! I hope that your weekend is going well. I succeeded in sleeping all the way to 8am this morning! Whoo-hoo! Now, on Saturday night, I’m trying to stay up late to start getting into the schedule for next week. It’s some kind of swing/mid hybrid. Leave at 1:15pm or so and get back 12 hours later. Y-U-K! But there it is – and, in fact, it is what it is, so…. 🙂
I made a couple more cards to share with my stamper ladies this afternoon. This one is a Valentine’s Day card that uses the Botanicals For You set (from the Sale-A-Bration flyer – you can only get it as a free item with a $50 or better order!) and the Sky Is the Limit set – also a Sale-A-Bration item. This set is only available until the 15th of February, so if you love it, you need to jump on it right quick! Take a look-see:
I started by SNAILing a piece of Real Red paper from the Brights Backgrounds DSP onto a panel of Basic Black card stock as a mat. The sentiment is a panel of Whisper White, matted on Basic Black. I inked the great sentiment from Botanicals For You with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jg to ensure I was centered when I stamped the panel. Then I SNAILd it onto the bottom corner of the card front.
The airplane is from Sky Is The Limit – stamped in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Whisper White. Then I used my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker to color the body of the plane and fussy cut it with my Paper Snips. Don’t be afeared – it’s pretty quick to cut out!
I used my 1/2″ Circle Punch and cut a tiny “propeller” from a piece of the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum, painted it with Clear Wink of Stella and used a tiny piece of Stampin’ Dimensional to attach it to the airplane. Then I covered up the Dimensional with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel. I used more of the Dimensionals on the back of the plane to pop it up and adhere it to the card front.
I punched a few Red Foil hearts using my Hearts Border Punch and one larger one with the Itty Bitty Accent Punch pack heart. I stuck the larger heart on over the dot in the “i” with a tiny dab of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and added a Rhinestone. Finally, I added three little hearts with more Liquid Glue. And that did the card front!
On the inside, I used a panel of Whisper White card stock, and stamped the Sky’s The Limit airplane again in the bottom right corner…
…and then trimmed the corner to add a little interest. I didn’t come up with this on my own (wish I had!), but I saw it out on Pinterest and thought it was a way cool idea! I stamped the Sky’s The Limit Sentiment in Tuxedo Black and the aircraft “exhaust” is stamped in Smoky Slate and then colored in with Real Red. I think I wish I’d only colored the heart part of the exhaust – what think you? I did that on the envelope, so you’ll be able to compare!
“XOXO” is just a little inside “thing” with my friend who’s coming to stamp today. So I added it in Real Red (it comes from the Beautiful Ride stamp set in the Occasions catalog). Feel free to leave it off if you don’t think it needs it! 🙂
I SNAILd the liner inside my Whisper White card base and popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals. And that did it for the card!
For the envelope, I started by stamping (and coloring!) the aircraft again in Tuxedo Black and the exhaust in Smoky Slate on the front of a Medium Whisper White Envelope…
…And added a liner from another piece of the Real Red Brights Backgrounds DSP, using my Envelope Liner Framelits.
Et Voila! A Valentine’s Day card – definitely suitable for the guy in your life! I hope that my friend enjoys it – she wanted to make a Valentine’s card for her new hubby!
