Here we are – 15 days till Christmas (just a little public service announcement!) and the Happy Stamper Ladies-Who-Hop are bringing you another wonderful assortment of card crafting goodness! And – if that number didn’t make it all really real – then consider that, after today, there’s one more Happy Stamper Hop. And then the one after that will be ON Christmas. Real enough for ya?? I’m just sayin’ that Christmas is like..tomorrow! Yikes! 🙂 But – for today, take a moment, get a cuppa something warm and cozy and enjoy all of our creations! You’ll find links to everyone’s posts down the way a piece.
Today was a sketch challenge, and I chose to go Christmas-y, using one of my favorite stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog. Wonderland (sadly retiring!) just hits all the right notes for me – and adding sentiments from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits and Sassy Salutations just sends it smack over the top. Take a look-see:
Here’s the sketch we started with:
I started by running a panel of Whisper White card stock thru the Big Shot in the Big Shot TIEF. Then I gave it a little light sponging with some Wonder around the edges. Not a lot. Just a smidge.
I stamped the tree image from Wonderland in Wisteria Wonder, on another panel of Whisper White. I stamped it, and then stamped it again without re-inking, a few times. I grounded the image a little by adding some more sponging to the bottom of the panel.
To add a little sparkle to the trees, I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to apply glue to several of the branches of the trees, and then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Stamping Glitter. It’s pretty much impossible to see in the pictures – sorry! The larger mat is a piece of Wisteria Wonder, run thru the Softly Falling TIEF. Once my glittered glue was dry, I SNAILd that panel to the embossed Wisteria Wonder panel and moved on to my sentiments.
I went to my Christmas Greetings Thinlit Dies, and cut “Peace” out three times from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and three times from Wisteria Wonder card stock. Using my Fine-Tip Glue Pen, I created three “stacks” consisting of a Wisteria Wonder and a Dazzling Diamonds word. Then I used more of the Fine-Tip pen to adhere them to the center panel – overlapping them a little bit, and letting them hang off both sides.
To build the card front, I first SNAILd a narrow strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper to the embossed white panel. Then I popped the center element, with its die cut sentiments, onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On the inside, I heat embossed the sentiment from Sassy Salutations in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then I surrounded it with the snowflake flurries and the pine bough from the Wonderland set.
I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added a little more bling. I made a sloppy bow with 4 strands of Silver Metallic Thread, and stuck it to the card front with a little dab of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. Over that, I Glue-Dotted a Winter Wonderland Embellishment. And that finished off the card!
For a prettied up envelope, I stamped more Wonderland pine boughs and snow flurries in Wisteria Wonder on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope…
…and then made a custom paper liner. I used a leftover piece of Whisper White Envelope Paper, and stamped Wonderland pine boughs and snow flurries all over it – then I cut out an envelope liner using my Envelope Liner Framelits!
Et Voila! A shimmery wisteria Christmas card. Hope you like!

Lovely card Mary, and with my favorite Stampin Up Tree Set…..too bad it’s on the retired list!..
I keep hoping it’ll get a reprieve like the Woodland TIEF did! Thanks, Sandi! 🙂
What a fresh color combo Mary, so beautiful and elegant. My favorite set too, so sad it is retiring
One of the first SU! cards I ever made was with the now-retired Ornamental Pine – in heat embossed white on Wisteria Wonder. I love that combo for the holidays – thanks Kristi! 🙂
