Good morning and happy Sunday, y’all! Hope you’re having a great weekend! We’ve been having so much fun here – it’s hard to believe that today will be our last! We’ll have one last breakfast together and then…off everyone will go until we’re able to come back together again!! As always – it takes so long to GET here and then….poof! It’s done. 🫤
Today’s card is one that I love – I’ve been meaning to use the Baby Wipe technique with the new Elegant Leaves bundle and…I finally did it! I floated the leaves over a pretty Softly Woven 3D Embossed card front to make a clean and simple thank you card. Take a look-see:
I started by embossing a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock in the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered it at a slight angle to the front of my Very Vanilla card base.
On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped three leaf outline images from the Elegant Leaves stamp set in Pecan Pie ink.
The Baby Wipe Technique is a fun way to use multiple colors in a simple stamp. I laid a baby wipe on a waterproof mat and then used Timid Tiger, Crisp Cantaloupe and Golden Glow Stampin’ Ink Refills to add ink to the wipe.
When I randomly dropped the ink onto the wipe, the ink spreads and you effectively create a one-time-use-and-totally-unique “ink pad”!
Using my “ink pad” – I inked the fill images for the leaves and stamped them onto the outline images. Tip: when using this technique – be sure to clean you stamp off each time – otherwise you’re going to get a “muddy” image. And – try to ink in a different spot each time!
I used the dies in the Elegant Leaves set to cut out the inked up leaves.
I adhered the top leaf with Liquid Glue and then added the second and third with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I tied a Linen Thread double-looped Linen Thread bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped an Elegant Leaves sentiment in Cajun Craze. Then I snipped a banner in the right end and adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added a few Calypso Coral Painted Patch Adhesive-backed Dots.
To add a cool little touch – I curled a couple of corners of the embossed card front – and made a couple of little tears here and there – and the card front was done.
On the inside, I added another Elegant Leaves sentiment in Cajun Craze ink on a Very Vanilla panel. Then I repeated the baby wipe technique with an Elegant Leaves leaf in the bottom corner.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Very Vanilla card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got another Elegant Leaves leaf on the front…
…and one more on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I sometimes forget about the Baby Wipe Technique but…it’s great for lots of images and PERFECT for Fall leaves like the ones in the Elegant Leaves bundle. And – the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder adds wonderful texture in a blink!
