Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table! I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
When I saw the color challenge – I thought…woods. From there I decided on the Woodland Embossing Folder and…the Merry Moose stamp set! And I combined them with a little Night Before Christmas DSP. Take a look-see:
And – our Christmas-y color challenge – right up my alley!!
I pulled a little inspiration from the Mojo Monday sketch challenge for my layout!
I started with some Cherry Cobbler paper from the Night Before Christmas DSP and matted it on Early Espresso for the card front.
I wrapped some of the Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Diagonal Striped Ribbon around the panel, securing it with SNAIL and some Glue Dots on the back.
The embossed panel starts with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Using the large tree in the Merry Moose stamp set, I stamped the DE-boss side of the Woodland Embossing Folder several times in Early Espresso. Then I carefully placed the panel into the folder and ran it thru my die cutting and embossing machine.
I matted the panel on Early Espresso and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On another piece of Crumb Cake, I stamped the moose outline in Early Espresso, using my Stamparatus. Then I added the fill-in image in Crumb Cake. I stamped the image again on a sticky note and fussy cut it to create a mask. I placed the mask over the stamped moose and then used the Merry Moose tree to stamp several times in Crumb Cake. When I pulled up the mask – the trees were “Behind” the moose! 😉
I cut the image with a square Stitched Shapes die and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I used my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend to color a length of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine. Then I tied a double-loop bow with Linen Thread. As I secured it – I secured a short piece of the Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Striped Ribbon.
I adhered the bow to the card front with a Glue Dot – then tied a simple bow with my Cherry Cobbler-colored Baker’s Twine and added that on top with another Glue Dot.
For the Merry Moose sentiment, I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler on Crumb Cake and punched it with my 1 1/8″ Scalloped Circle Punch. I adhered it with a Dimensional and a Glue Dot.
I added a Gold Star from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley and the card front was done!
On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Merry Moose in Cherry Cobbler on a Crumb Cake panel. I stamped some of the trees in Crumb Cake across the bottom – and added another Most Wonderful Time Gold Star.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Early Espresso mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Merry Moose trees in Crumb Cake on the front…
…and some more of the Night Before Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love the Merry Moose stamp set – and it works really well with the masking technique, don’t you think? I hope you like!

Great card Mary 🙂 Perfect masculine card. Love all your layers
Thanks, Karen – appreciate it! 🙂
You’re creation is mooset wunnermoose. I wondered where you got that cherry cobbler twine from at first and forgot how you can color it by dragging it through the ink pad.
Using the Stampin’ Blend results in SLIGHTLY less inky fingers! Thank moose very much, Karen! 🙂
That is so cool Mary! Love the embossing technique on your background, perfect for the color challenge! 🙂
