Happy Friday, y’all! When you get this post, I’ll be on the way to a day of stamping and fun with Brian King and a 100+ other demonstrators. I think it’s going to be a great day! I’m presenting a little do-ha on making collage cards. So…fingers crossed! And be watching my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page – I’ll post some pics as the day progresses!
Now, my card today is about as far from a collage card as it’s possible for me to get! This is a Clean And Simple card to celebrate a strong woman – using the aptly named…Here’s To Strong Women stamp set. And a little Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
And I played along with the Theme challenge at the Global Design Project.
I started with a plain Whisper White panel that I matted on a piece of Copper Foil for the card front. Then I matted a smaller piece of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP on Copper Foil and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
I added a Brightly Gleaming Foil Element star with Liquid Glue.
On a seperate piece of Whisper White, I stamped the sentiment from Here’s To Strong Women twice – once in Night of Navy and once in Versamark Ink. I sprinkled Copper Embossing Powder on the Versamark version and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.
I cut the Night of Navy sentiment with a circle Stitched Shapes Die and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
From the Copper embossed sentiment – I snipped “Superpower” with my Paper Snips and popped it over the sentiment with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. And that was it for the card front!
On the inside, I stamped a second Here’s To Strong Women sentiment in Versamark on Whisper White and heat embossed it in Copper. I inked the little sparkle image in Night of Navy and added it next to the sentiment. Finally I added another Brightly Gleaming Foil Element star with Liquid Glue – trimming the excess with my shiny new Paper Trimmer!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Copper Foil mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Night of Navy sparkles on the front…
…and a little more Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Clean and simple but I think it packs a pretty big punch, don’t you? The Here’s To Strong Women set is perfect for honoring the achievements and strength of the strong women in your life!! I hope you like!

Have a great time in Atlanta! I’ll miss seeing you call…can’t wait to see the photos! Fantastic card today, love the clean design! 🙂
Thanks so much, Amy – going to be very weird without you here! 🙂
I wish Stampin Up would order more product (Moose Punch) when they have over a month and half left on a catalog. Most customers can not order everything they want within a month of a catalog coming out. I’m very disappointed !!! I’ve been buying SU products every month for the last fifteen years and don’t know if that will continue.
I’m not one of your customers (I have a local demonstrator) but I follow you on line and enjoy seeing what you’ve made.
Thanks for reading my rant,
Pam:)
I understand your frustration, Pam, and wish I had the solution. Thanks for following me! 🙂
Great card for the two challenges. I know you will have a ball this weekend. Can’t wait to see pics and be teased by what you receive.
Thanks much, Karen! I’m excited to share what we see! 🙂
This is awesome!
Thank you so much, Akiko! 🙂
