Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Christmas Around the World for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s sketch, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Here’s our fun sketch – I love these designs with the wonky matting!

I decided to let some pretty Designer Paper from the Christmas Around the World do a lot of the work for me – and ended up with a card that used zero ink.  Yep, no stamping!  I added some texture with the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF and a few snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

This card also plays along with the theme challenge from this week’s TGIF Challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock, embossed it with the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF and matted it on a piece of Powder Pink card stock for the card front.

Next up, I matted a piece of Quilted Christmas DSP on Powder Pink and adhered it to the card front – sort of wonky-style – with Fast Fuse.  A second panel, from Christmas Around the World, is also matted on Powder Pink.  That one’s popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered a strip of Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon across the panels with some Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is cut from a piece of the Christmas Around the World DSP using an Ovals Layering Framelit and matted on a scalloped Powder Pink mat.  It’s adhered over the ribbon with Fast Fuse.

I cut three small snowflakes with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits from Powder Pink card stock.  I used my Fine-Tip Glue Pen to lay glue down all over each snowflake and sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter.  Then I adhered them with a little Liquid Glue to the card front.  The addition of a Rhinestone Basic Jewel on each snowflake finished off the card front.

On the inside, I cut two snowflakes with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits from the bottom corner of a Whisper White panel.  Then I adhered the panel to a Powder Pink mat with Fast Fuse (and a little Liquid Glue around the cut-out areas).  Finally, I used more Liquid Glue and stuck the die cut snowflakes back into the negative space.

I added a Rhinestone to each snowflake, Fast Fuse’d the panel into my Basic Gray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a Powder Pink Seasonal Layers snowflake adhered to the front with Liquid Glue…

…and another piece of the Christmas Around the World DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Now…”Happy Holidays” isn’t my normal choice for a greeting at Christmas – but I thought it would be fun to show how versatile that design is in the Christmas Around the World DSP!  And I love how the papers all work together with the the gorgeous Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF and Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  Hope you like!

  1. Your choice of the pink is dazzling on this card! I especially love the embossed sweater panel. Wow, and I love the fact that you have no stamping, too! Fun, fun card, with beautiful snowflakes!

  2. Oh my goodness, how pretty! Love the pink sparkly snowflakes. Fantastic colors for a holiday card! 🙂

  3. So, Amy uses a stamp I don’t remember seeing and now you use a piece of DSP I overlooked! I’m with you on loving the “wonky” cards. I can get mine wonky by mistake, but it’s difficult for me to get them layed out on purpose! Great card with no stamping…I think there’s a challenge blog out there for that!

    • Yep – take a gander thru the Christmas Around the World pack, you’ll see it! Thanks so much, Karen – glad you liked it! 🙂
