Stampin’ Up! Festive Jingle Wishes All Aglow

Well – hey, guys!  It’s Haawwmp Day – from CA.  Where it’s going to be over 100 this week.

Are you kidding me?!?  I didn’t bring enough clothes for “over 100″ to Utah!  Was thinking winter – not “Death Valley”!  Sheesh!

My card today features Real Red and Black and some Merry Music Specialty DSP.  I combined all that and added a fun sentiment from the Wishes All Aglow stamp set and….take a look-see:

The kind of unusual layout is from the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge this week.

And it really plays along beautifully with the Inspire. Create. Challenge.

I started by Fast Fuse’ing a piece of the Merry Music Specialty DSP to a Real Red mat for the card front.  If you’ll notice – it’s the music for Jingle Bells.

Yea – I did that. 😉

Next up, I cut a piece of Real Red Glimmer Paper into a parallelogram.  Check out the dimensions…

I cut an identical piece of Basic Black.  And then I did a dry fit…

…which let me see the angle for stamping the sentiment!

I inked up the sentiment from the Wishes All Aglow stamp set with Versamark and stamped it on the Basic Black shape.  Then I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

I used Fast Fuse and adhered both panels to the card front.  Then I turned the panel over and trimmed the excess with my Stampin’ Trimmer.

I tied a little bow of Real Red Mini Tinsel Trim and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Then I used tiny dabs of Liquid Glue to adhere the tails where I wanted them to say.  To finish, I added small Rhinestone Basic Jewels to each of the ornaments on the sentiment and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Wishes All Aglow stamp set in Real Red on a Whisper White panel.  I cropped part of the Merry Music Specialty DSP that caught some perfect words from the song, matted it on a strip of Real Red and onto the panel.  Then I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a couple of Real Red bows stamped from the Christmas Happiness stamp set on the front…

…and more of the Merry Music Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Red.  Black.  Music.  I think it kind of shouts “festive holidays”, don’t you?  I love this little Wishes All Aglow set – it’s kind of one of the fly-over sets – but you need to check it out!  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix  (you’ll have to settle for re-runs until I get back home to take fresh photos!!)

Don’t be scared!  This is what a “vicious” Aussie looks like!  Which is an oxymoron if I’ve ever heard of one!  He was smiling so hard at our company – and I caught him at just the right moment!  He puts on a pretty scary face, though, doesn’t he??  🙂

  1. What a fun card! Love the sparkly red touches. Thanks for showing us how to cut those crazy rectangles too! And if it makes you feel better, it’s 42 here in Atlanta this morning…I’m freezing!!!

  2. I dunno, Mary. Even with the measurements, I doubt I can cut a parallelogram, let alone say it and spell it! but I’ll try. This card, to me, is nothing less than amazing. I don’t know what else to say…well, except I still love that pic of Finn smiling. 100 is way too hot for now but at least humidity is down, right? Have a great day.

    • Well – it doesn’t have to be perfect! And it wasn’t too hard with the trimmer – try making a template from a piece of printer paper. 🙂 Yes. 100 is WAY too hot, even when it’s a dry heat. Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  3. Kate

    Spectacular!

  4. Lovely! ‘ Course, any card with music on it is good. Sorry you have to put up with heat! Hope it isn’t for long.

  5. Great card, Mary! I would have never been able to figure out this challenge-but you nailed it! Love the red glimmer paper, too!

  6. Wonderful take on the sketch!

  7. Sarah-Jane Rae

What an interesting sketch, you nailed it! A lovely ‘festive’ make 🙂
