Stampin’ Up! Winterly Nests on Birch Sneak Peek Thinking of You Card with Video

Happy Half-Way-Thru-the-Weekend, y’all!  Hope yours is going well!  We’ve had a Fall-snap here – a bit chilly in the morning and pleasant outside most of the day. If only I thought it would last! 🤷‍♀️

My card today spans the seasons a bit – a little summery, a little Fall-y.  A lot pretty – all thanks to the Nests of Winter DSP and coordinating Winterly Tree Tops stamp set – all in the new Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog and available on 4 September!  I added some Birch Wood 3D Embossing and…take a look-see:

This is a riff on one of the samples in the catalog – but I added a little bit of this and a little bit of that!  Cuz…it’s me! 🙂

I started by stamping the two-bird image from Winterly Tree Tops twice in Basic Beige ink on a Basic Beige panel.

I embossed the panel in the new Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder – also coming in the new Mini catalog on 4 Sept – and then popped the panel onto the front of my Basic Beige card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a piece of Garden Green paper from the Nests of Winter DSP and used Paper Snips to cut a banner in one end.  Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the bough image from the set – twice – in Garden Green ink – on a rectangle of Wood Textured Specialty Paper.  Then I popped it onto the card front with Dimensionals.

The bow is made by wrapping some Copper Clay Natural Tones Linen Thread (part of the Suite and coming on 4 Sept) four times around my fingers, twisting the loops to make a figure-8 and tying another little piece of the Thread around it to hold it in place.  Like a double-loop bow – but…just half of it.  Without the smaller set of loops. I adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock, I stamped the Winterly Tree Tops sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

When it was cool, I cut it out with the large banner die from the Stylish Shapes die set and used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it over the bow.

I added some Basic Beige gems from the new Earth Tones Shimmer Gems (available on 4 Sept) and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the single-bird image from the set in Basic Beige on a Basic White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the single-bird image from Winterly Tree Tops in Basic Beige on the front…

…and more of the Nests of Winter DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! I do love this set, y’all!  The pretty Winterly Tree Tops set is great for adding natural images to your projects – and they’re made perfect with the coordinating sweet sentiments.  The Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder is going to go down as one of my faves….ever!  And the Nests of Winter DSP – oh my.  SO SO pretty!  I like that it has the pretty images with birds – and pussy willows – and birch trees – PLUS some versatile geometric images, too!

Finn Fan Fix

Well – 254 miles above us, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are settling in for a MUCH longer stay in the ISS than they’d planned on.  Hope they have someone to water and mow their lawns and take care of their pets.  February.  Wow.  Hopefully Elon will come thru.

Meanwhile, here on Earth, life goes on.

With tasks of MUCH MORE weight and import than getting a couple of astronauts back to Earth.

GOTTA get that darned SQUEAKER outta this eggplant!

Such a pretty card! The clean layering is just perfect and so are the colors. Man, can’t even imagine how a 2 week trip turns into 8 months. Yikes! Hope that they get back safely!! And hope Finn was finally able to get that squeaker out too! 😉

Nope – that eggplant is holding tough! But…the Man is relentless. He WILL prevail! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
