Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Fold Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators! We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see! This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!! How cool is that?!?
Today’s card is a cool and easy fun fold – it’s a double z-fold card that I decorated with a little old…and a little new! I pulled a couple of pretty designs from the Paper Medley Mix-In DSP (the “old”) and then used the “new” Everlasting Thanks stamp set (coming on 1 Sept!). Take a look-see:
I pulled a couple of elements from the Festive Friday Inspo list…neutral colors, stripes, fancy fold, and texture!
I started by scoring a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Petal Pink cardstock at 2 3/4″ and again at 5 1/2″ on the long side. I folded it into a “z”.
The second – smaller – card base is also Petal Pink cardstock – a 3 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ piece that I scored at 3 1/2″ and 7″ on the long side – folding IT as a “z”, too!
From a piece of striped, Basic Beige paper from the Paper Medley Mix-In DSP, I cut two 2 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ pieces and one at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. I embossed all of them in the new Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder (coming on 1 Sept!).
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered all the embossed pieces to the panels of the large card base.
I cut three 3 3/8″ x 3 3/8″ pieces of Paper Medley Mix-In DSP – two from Petal Pink woodgrain paper and one from the same Basic Beige striped design used on the large card base.
I adhered them to the three panels of the smaller Petal Pink card base.
On a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a single leaf from the new Everlasting Thanks stamp set (coming on 1 Sept) in Early Espresso ink. I colored it with the Light Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blend – then stamped the “+” image a few times around it in Petal Pink ink.
Then I adhered it to the back of the large card base with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped one of the pretty florals from the Everlasting Thanks set in Early Espresso Ink. Using Stampin’ Blends, I colored the image:
– Large flowers – Dark Petal Pink
– Smaller flowers – Dark Lemon Lolly
– Leaves – Light Pretty Peacock
– Berries – Light Lost Lagoon
– Flower centers – Light Pecan Pie
I added some of the little “+” images from the set in Petal Pink ink.
I used the next-to-largest dot-dash Tile Garden die (coming on 1 Sept) to cut out the image and then adhered it to the front panel of the small card base.
On a 3/8″ wide strip of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped the Everlasting Thanks sentiment in Early Espresso ink. I used the middle punch of the Three Banner Punch – to cut a banner in each end of the strip. Note: I did that by sliding each end of the strip into the punch from the BACK and snipping each end individually.
I adhered a small Linen Thread bow with Liquid Glue, then adhered the sentiment over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Then I added a few Lemon Lolly Array of Dots to the panel.
I cut out another Basic White square using the same next-to-largest Tile Garden die. On it, I stamped another sentiment and leaf from Everlasting Thanks in Early Espresso ink. I colored the leaf with the Light Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blend and then added some more of the “+” image in Petal Pink.
I adhered the die cut to the last panel of the small card base.
Okay – I realized I did a BAD job of taking “in progress” photos so…I found a couple from the last time I made this fun fold to help.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the folded-up small card to the center of the back panel of the large card (squint yer eyes and pretend it’s the CURRENT card!)…
…then I unfolded the small card and added Liquid Glue to just half of the BACK side of the front panel of the small card. Squint….

With the large card closed, I closed the small card to finish assembling the double z-fold and…the WHOLE card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Everlasting Thanks leaf on the front…

…and more of the Paper Medley Mix-In DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I do enjoy making these z-fold cards – they’re easy to do and give plenty of opportunity to decorate them! The Paper Medley Mix-In DSP (available now and ON SALE thru the end of August!) is a fun, eclectic mix of colors and designs to give you lots of choice for your projects. The new Everlasting Thanks stamp set (coming SOON on 1 Sept) is a pretty little set with three florals and sweet sentiments! The Tile Garden die set (also new on 1 Sept) is going to be an absolute WORK HORSE for me (and for you!!)! 😎
I hope you like!
