Stampin’ UP! Alpine Arches Simply Leaves Thank You for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I used a few things to make today’s thank you card – some new Alpine Winter DSP (coming on 1 Sept in the Sept 2026 Online Exclusives) sets the stage for a few Simply Leaves leaves and a sentiment.  And – I made a frame with a couple of Everyday Arches dies.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our sketch!

I started by adhering a full 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of new Alpine Winter DSP (this is part of the Alpine Winter suite in the new September 2026 Online Exclusives) to a Basic Beige card base using Liquid Glue.

Using two dies from the Everyday Arches set…

…I cut out a Pecan Pie frame that I adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped two small plaid leaves from the Simply Leaves stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink.  I also stamped a large leaf in Peaceful Pine ink.

I used the bundled Simple Leaf Punch to cut out the larger leaf and my Detail Scissors to cut out the two smaller leaves.

Down in the corner, I adhered one small leaf with Liquid Glue – then the large leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the remaining small leaf with more Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow from two lengths of Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a scrunched up Mini Glue Dot.

On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped a Simply Leaves sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink.

I cut out the sentiment with the Three Banner Punch and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Peaceful Pine 2026-2028 In Color Dots (okay…NINE of them!) and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped a second Simply Leaves sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink on a Basic Beige panel.  Then I stamped the little plaid leaf a few times in Misty Moonlight ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the small Simply Leaves leaf in Misty Moonlight ink on the front…

… and more of that plaid Alpine Winter DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – this Alpine Winter DSP (you’re going to want to grab a COUPLE of packs when it goes live on 1 Sept) is….wonderful.  I’d take a whole PACK of this one plaid but…there’s five other beautiful designs, too!  Winner winner!  Simply Leaves has been a favorite bundle from when it came out and this card drives home how handy and cool it is.  Of course, the Everyday Arches die set is SO versatile and handy as is the Three Banner Punch!  Lots of great tools on this card, y’all!

2026 BACK TO SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAYS!

Thirteen states – plus Puerto Rico! – will have Sales Tax Holidays for school supplies in July and August and some Stampin’ Up! items qualify for the tax break in those states! According to state statutes, “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes” are eligible. And – this includes select Stampin’ Up! products! BOOM!

The states with upcoming tax holidays are:  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts**, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio**, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Puerto Rico.  So, if you live in one of those states or Puerto Rico, take a second to download the sheet below and mark your calendar!  NOTE: The table on the left shows the states, their dates, and the limit.  The right-hand table shows the SU! Items that qualify! And yes – ALL the Stampin’ Dimensionals qualify!! 😎

**MA & OH Special Note: Unlike the other participating states, Massachusetts and Ohio are not limited to the products listed in this document.                      Additional current Stampin’ Up! products may qualify based on each state’s exemption rules and price limits. (MA limit: $2,500 per item; OH limit: $20 per item.)

How Exemption Limits Work: Sales tax will not be applied to qualifying items priced at or below the exemption limit specified for each state. There is no limit to the quantity of qualifying items that may be purchased, provided each individual item does not exceed the applicable state limit.

Please note:  You have to place your order with Stampin’ Up! DURING the tax holiday period in your state in order to receive these items tax-free (so – that’s from MIDNIGHT local time on the first day to MIDNIGHT local time on the last day of the tax holiday).  Also, keep in mind that this is a STATE SALES TAX holiday and the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

For those wondering about Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey and Wisconsin, those states will NOT have the sales tax holiday this year.  Whaawaaaaa…. 🙁

If you’re in one of the thirteen states or Puerto Rico – happy tax-saving!
