Good morning, y’all! We’re half way thru the weekend – hope yours is going well – and is fun. Or productive. Or…better by far…BOTH! 🙂
Today’s card is from a pretty little bundle that you might well have missed. It’s in your catalog – but…the stunning Lily of the Valley suite precedes it – and…your eyes may have been too dazzled to see it! Go back and check for the Life in Bloom bundle! It’s really a memory-keeping/scrapbooking set but…I think our card today will let you see that…it’s not JUST for scrapbooking! Especially when paired with it’s showy friend – the Valley in Bloom DSP! Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from the Try a Sketch on Tuesday challenge!
And – I think it fits quite nicely with the Just Us Girls Word Week Challenge!
I started by adhering a piece of Valley in Bloom DSP on a Blackberry Bliss mat for the card front.
Using a couple of Scalloped Blooms dies, I cut out two scalloped circles – one from the leaf-strewn pattern and a smaller one from the plaid pattern in Valley in Bloom DSP. I adhered them both to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using the cool lattice die in the Life in Bloom set, I cut out two lattices from Basic Beige cardstock. I snipped each of them into two pieces – keeping the cut ends straight. Then I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue in the top left and bottom right corners.
I used the cool flower pot die in the set to cut out a Blackberry Bliss pot – it’s so fun the way the die cut embosses a basket-weave pattern as it cuts!
I cut out two foliage die cuts – one from Granny Apple Green and one from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the large Life in Bloom flowers-and-vase image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut it out with the coordinating die in the set.
I colored the large leaves with the Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend, the small leaves with the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend and the flowers with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend. Using scissors, I snipped off the stamped flower pot.
Then, using Liquid Glue, I adhered the cardstock and stamped die cuts to the back of the die cut flower pot.
I cut out seven little Basic White Life in Bloom flowers and adhered them to the cardstock foliage with Liquid Glue.
On a 5/8″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the sentiment from Scalloped Blooms in Blackberry Bliss ink – cheating it towards the right end of the strip.
I cut a banner in the right end and adhered the sentiment to the flower pot with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I cut out a pretty bow – there’s a die for that! – from Lemon Lolly Pastels Shimmer Specialty Paper and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
Finally, I added some clear Dewdrops Embellishments to the flower centers, some 2026-2028 In Color Butterflies – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Scalloped Blooms sentiment in Blackberry Bliss on a Basic Beige panel. In the corner, I stamped the Life in Bloom image – just the top! – in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with the Stampin’ Blends.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Basic Beige card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Life in Bloom flowers on the front…
…and more of the Valley in Bloom DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Yes, yes, yes, I know – the Life in Bloom bundle is focued on scrapbooking – which means that it can use a little help in the sentiment department for cards! But – that gorgeous bouquet of Lilies of the Valley – and the embossed flower pot – who could resist that!? So – pull out a wonderful sentiment set – like Scalloped Blooms! – and you’re ready to roll! The addition of the Valley in Bloom DSP is just the icing on the cake!
I hope you like!
