Stampin’ Up! Sunset Scenic Coast Sneak Peek Tower Card with Video for Creative Creases #114

Good morning and happy Good Friday!  As you pack up the Easter baskets, take a moment to remember the real meaning behind today…and what is to come on Sunday!

My card today goes back to a favorite fun fold – a Tower card – and I used it to showcase my fave new thing coming soon (5 May!) in the new May-Aug 2026 Catalog!  It’s the Scenic Coast Suite and…it is stunning!  With the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP, the Sunset Coast bundle – and a few other goodies….you might just as well add this WHOLE SUITE to your shopping list!  Take a look-see:

You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards –  at this month’s Creative Creases Challenge! 😎 We’re ALWAYS wanting to see pretty fun folds so…I hope hope hope you’ll make one (or three!) and come share them with us! 🙂

And I also played along with The Paper Players theme challenge this week!

I started with a 5 1/2″ x 10″ piece of Basic Black cardstock that I scored and folded at 4 1/4″, 5 3/4″, 7 1/4″ and 8 3/4″.  I folded all the score lines “in”.

I cut the bottom off my selected piece of Scenic Coast Specialty DSP to make it 5 3/8″ long.  Then – measuring from the left side of the panel – I cut off three 1 3/8″ wide strips.  Keeping them in order, I used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the three “inside” narrow panels of the card base.

I cut the bottom off another piece of the same design Scenic Coast Specialty DSP to make it 5 3/8″ long.  Measuring from the right edge – I cut off about 1″.  Note – I did that to put the “sun” sort of where I wanted it on the back panel.  Then – still measuring from the right edge – I cut a 2 5/8″ wide strip,

I adhered the strip to the back of the card front with Liquid Glue.  You can see that the horizon stayed continuous across the panels.

For the back, I stamped two Sunset Coast sentiments in Strawberry Slush ink on a Basic White panel.  I made a little water scene with a few stamps from the set – the small water image in Balmy Blue, a small sailboat in Tuxedo Black and the sun in Lemon Lolly.

I adhered the panel to the back of the card using Liquid Glue.

Moving back to the front – on the end panel (it’s the one that’s only 1 1/4″ wide) – I put Liquid Glue (you could use Tear & Tape here if you prefer).

I folded the panels over at the 7 1/4″ fold to adhere the panel to the larger side of the card.  Please check out the video below – it’s a ton easier to SHOW that than to WRITE that!

Using the round sailboat die in the Sunset Coast set, I cut out from the center of a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock.  On the back – in the top center and bottom center of the die cut – I put some Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I used those to adhere the die cut to a 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″ piece of Window Sheet. Note: I only put Dimensionals where I was going to adhere the art to the card front – so that nothing would be visible from the back.

Using Liquid Glue – again only in the center of the die cut  – I adhered the die cut to the front tower panel.  Note: I closed the card front down and then centered the die cut on the card.

Using the dies in the set, I cut out six birds and the stone arch from Basic Black cardstock and six shells from Sunset Shimmer Vellum (three pink and three blue).

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the arch and three birds to the back panel.

Then I added the remaining birds and five of the Sunset Shimmer Vellum shells to the front with more Liquid Glue.

Finally – I added some Sunset Sparkle Sequins in white and Balmy Blue and…the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Sunset Coast “scene” on the front…

…and more of the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Well – it’s pretty obvious why this is going to be a fave!  The Scenic Coast Specialty DSP is simply stunning – with just enough foil shimmer to look just like sunlight glinting off the ocean – it’s perfect!  And the coordinating Sunset Coast bundle has all the images and sentiment – plus die cuts! – to make all the pretty projects you can think up!
