Stampin’ UP! Toile Gingerbread Man Christmas Card with Video

Good morning, y;all – happy Friday!  We’re back on the cusp of a weekend – so I hope you’ve got something fun planned! And that you’ve got good weather – you know, sunny but not hot, breezy but cold, puffy clouds but no rain – to do it in!

My card today is another look-see at Christmas cards – this one is a fun one (as opposed to elegant, religious, etc).  It features the new Gingerbread Man bundle – from the Sep-Dec 2025 Mini catalog!  And..unexpectedly, maybe – some Autumn Toile DSP!  Take a look-see:

I was playing along with the theme challenge at The Paper Players this week!

I started by stamping some “crumbs” in Early Espresso ink in the top left and bottom right corners of an Autumn Toile DSP panel.  Then I matted the panel on a Pool Party mat for the card front.

On a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock, I stamped the Gingerbread Man and one of the faces in the set in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Basics WOW Embossing Powder.  Then I heat set it with the Heat Tool and cut it out with the large die in the set.

Using the dies in the set, I made some candy.  Okay – a LOT of candy!

– I cut a Poppy Parade and a Basic White Lollypop.  When you do this – there’s a lollypop and a swirly.  I cut the round top off the Poppy Parade die cut and adhered it onto the Basic White die cut.  There’s a seperate swirly die – and I cut one out of Basic White – and adhered it to the Poppy Parade candy.

– I cut a Poppy Parade and a Basic White candy wrapper. Then I adhered the Basic White swirly (from the lollypops) to the Poppy Parade wrapper and the Poppy Parade swirly to the Basic White wrapper to make peppermint candies.

– I cut a Granny Apple Green and a Basic White candy cane.  With Liquid Glue, I adhered the Granny Apple Green “stripes” die cut to the solid Basic White candy cane.

– On Basic White cardstock, I stamped gumdrops in Pretty in Pink (2 of them), Pool Party, Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green.  I cut them all out with the dies in the set.

– I cut out a face from Basic Black – and used Liquid Glue (itsy-bitsy dots!) to adhere the pieces into place on the gingerbread man.

I tied a bow from a piece of white Baker’s Twine (from the Black & White & Gold Baker’s Twine pack) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

With Liquid Glue, I adhered the candy cane and the lollypop to the card front.  Then I popped the Gingerbread Man on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – placed near the center-ish of the die cut.

On a piece of Pool Party cardstock, I stamped the Gingerbread Man sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered it over the bow.

Then I tucked the two “wrapped candies” in and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  I adhered the gumdrops in groups of two – with Liquid Glue and Dimensionals.

I added some Real Red & White Peppermints (yep – these are still around!) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Gingerbread Man sentiment in Shaded Spruce on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then I added a Pretty in Pink and a Poppy Parade gum drop.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a couple gumdrops on the front…

..and more of the Autumn Toile DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Well – as I mentioned on the video (linked below) I make a lot of cookies and treats at Christmas but…not rolled and cut out ones!  Nope – don’t have the patience to decorate them.  But I DO have the patience to make this darling Gingerbread Man and all his accompanying candies!  So stinkin’ cute – and you can ALSO use the large die to make a full up shaped card.  Cool!  And the Autumn Toile DSP proves its versatility on this one – it is NOT just for Fall/Autumn cards!

  4. Oh, Mary! You just showed me why I “need” this set. Your gingerbread man is decorated beautifully. And that candy! All of that glorious candy! I will say that it brought back memories of Shrek and the gingerbread man’s famous line: “Not my gum drop buttons!” Thank you so much for playing in my challenge at The Paper Players this week!
