Stampin’ UP! Beautiful Gallery Prairie Grass Shaker Card with Video

Good morning everyone – and…happy Fri-Yay!!  Hope you’ve had a great week!

Today’s card is one that…you don’t often see from me – it’s a Shaker card!  I know! Whoda thunk it?  But – I was working thru the card that was in my head and all of a sudden – it was totally obvious that it NEEDED to be a shaker!  It had started with the Prairie Grass stamp set – a window sheet – and some Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ DSP.  And it ended up….well, take a look-see:

I was playing with The Paper Players theme challenge this week!

I started by adhering a seaside-scene piece of the Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ DSP (on sale all month in the 2025-27 In Color Sale!) to the front of my Secret Sea card base using Liquid Glue.

Using the two largest Textured Notes dies I cut out a frame from Secret Sea cardstock (this is also ON SALE all month!).  All I did was put them both in place at the same time atop the cardstock and run the whole thing thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine! 🙂

To make the shaker window – I pulled out a piece of Window Sheet – I didn’t really care how big it was – as long as it was a little bigger than the frame!  I rubbed it GOOD with an Embossing Buddy!  Note: static when you’re heat embossing is the “enemy” – and that’s DOUBLY true when heat embossing on acetete (aka Window Sheet).  So – this step is important!!

I inked the large image from the Prairie Grass set with Versamark ink and stamped it on the Window Sheet.  Note: the acetate can be slippery so take your time and go straight down with the stamp – hold it a beat – and lift it straight back up.  It’s likely going to stick to the stamp – just carefully remove it so as not to blur the image.

I sprinkled the image with black Basics WOW Embossing Powder – and really tapped off the excess! Then I heat set the powder with the Heat Tool.

When it was cool, I used Liquid Glue (lightly!) on the back of my Secret Sea frame and adhered it to the Window Sheet – placing the image to the right side of the frame.

Using Paper Snips – I trimmed the excess Window Sheet from the frame.  Then I added Foam Adhesive Strips all the way around – making sure there were no gaps.

I poured a little pile of Loose Shaker Elements in the middle of the card front and used the Foam Adhesive Strips to carefully adhere the framed image over the top and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Prairie Grass in Secret Sea ink on a Basic White Panel.  In the corner, I stamped a small grass image from the set in Secret Sea.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Secret Sea card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the small Prairie Grass image on the front…

…and more of the Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Well – this didn’t start out to be a shaker – heck, I was surprised that I even HAD a pack of the Loose Shaker Elements!  But, boy – that Prairie Grass image – heat embossed on a Window Sheet! – popped over the top of the Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ DSP….perfect for a shaker card!  I like the versatility of this card – with no sentiment on the front – what you put on the INSIDE is wide open!  I think it would work for SO many occaions and for ANY recipient!! 🙂

I hope you like!

And don’t miss this Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ DSP – and the other 2025-2027 In Colors on sale this month!  Oh – and Prairie Grass should be back around the 18th!  Yeah!

BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAYS COMING UP!

The 2025 back-to-school sales tax holiday season begins this weekend and there are twelve states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, South Caroling, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia) offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July and August. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.”  Click the table below to open the chart and see what is available and when! 🙂

Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! DURING the tax holiday period to receive these items tax-free. Also, keep in mind that this is a STATE SALES TAX holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

FLORIDA – YOU’RE UP ALL MONTH!! MASSACHUSETTS – THIS IS YOUR WEEKEND!

For all y’all that live in Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Wisconsin…sorry!  Those states suspended the sales tax holiday again this year. 🙁

Finn Fan Fix

Yesterday was Catalog Packing Day.

Finn – as Senior Supervisor, showed exemplary leadership by remaining quietly in the other room.  Nothing freaks a young worker out more than the Super hovering and hovering.

He looked a bit stressed, yes?  Those solo runs are…harder on the boss than the workers!

He needn’t have worried.

Young (experience-wise not AGE-wise!) Addy….was on the job and kept her one good eagle-eye on the proceedings! She is learning that everyone has to pull their weight on a farm – when it’s catalog time, it’s all hands – and paws! – on deck!

Once the job was done – Senior came in to give the once-over.

We – and his young Padawan – passed his stringent inspection!  Whoo-hoo!

All that was left was a commemorative photo to mark the occasion!

Happy mail is on the way, y’all! 🙂
