Happy Half-Weekend, y’all! Hope it’s all you hoped it would be! 🙂
My card today is a study in spring-y colors – with lots of colorful circles and a pretty floral from the Mixed Florals stamp set. I framed it all up with the Sentimental Framing Bundle and added a sentiment from there, too! Take a look-see:
The inspiration for this layout came from the Try a Sketch on Tuesday sketch challenge! 🙂
I started by cutting out the largest frame from the Sentimental Framing die set out of a piece of Basic White cardstock.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhere the frame to a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Melon Mambo cardstock. Using Paper Snips, I trimmed the Melon Mambo panel down so that it’s not visible around the edges of the frame.
Using the 1 7/8″ and 1 3/4″ Circle Punches, I cut holes in two pieces of cardstock. These would be my stencils.
On a second piece of Basic White cardstock, I used the stencils and Small Blending Brushes to add – fairly random – circles. I used six colors, The bottom portion used Granny Apple Green, Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist. The top portion is Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Lemon Lolly circles. As you can see – I let the circles overlap. I also did NOT overthink where flowers versus leaves would end up! 🙂
Once I had the background made, I stamped the large Mixed Florals image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Then I cut out the image – using the same large Sentimental Framing die – and selecting the part of the image that I wanted to frame. I used Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut inside the frame on the card front.
I tied a bow from two lengths of black Baker’s Twine and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped just the word “grateful” from the stamp in the Sentimental Framing set in Melon Mambo ink. I cut it out with a Stylish Shapes label die.
For the video card – I tried a Tuxedo Black Memento Ink sentiment. Whatcha think?
I adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the three little ladybugs from Mixed Florals in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut them out with their coordinating dies. I colored each of them with a Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker.

I popped the ladybugs onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped two sentiments from Sentimental Framing in Melon Mambo ink on a Basic White panel. I added a circle of Pretty in Pink in the corner and stamped the Mixed Florals leaf in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then I stamped and colored a loveliness of ladybugs – yep, that’s what you call a herd of them!
Once again – I did a little bit differently on the card in the video!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Pretty in Pink circle and the Mixed Florals leaf on the front…
…and a Garden Green circle – and a different Mixed Florals leaf on the envelope flap!
Et Voila! Fun card, right!? I love the painterly look of all the random circles, don’t you!? The Mixed Florals set is a gorgeous grouping of florals – and of course the too-cute ladybugs! But – there are no sentiments so…the Sentimental Framing bundle made up THAT difference perfectly! And I really like the die cut frames!
I hope you like!

BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAYS COMING UP!

The 2025 back-to-school sales tax holiday season begins this weekend and there are twelve states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, South Caroling, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia) offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July and August. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” Click the table below to open the chart and see what is available and when! 🙂
Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! DURING the tax holiday period to receive these items tax-free. Also, keep in mind that this is a STATE SALES TAX holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.
ALABAMIANS…this is still YOUR weekend! 🙂
For all y’all that live in Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Wisconsin…sorry! Those states suspended the sales tax holiday again this year. 🙁
Even with our fundraiser ended – there remains a huge need! Greater Good, Mercury One, Samaritans Purse, Mission Mules – all doing God’s work.
And – there’s still a need for homes for pets.
The local Kerrville animal shelter is actively seeking folks who would be willing and able to adopt pets who have become parent-less as a result of the flooding. So sad. If it’s in your heart and you are able – here’s a link for you.
