Stampin’ Up! Ocean Friends Under the Ocean Thank You Card

Good morning and happy Monday!  If you have to go to work today – I’m guessing that darned alarm clock went off a bit earlier than you’d have liked this morning, huh!?  It’ll get better – I promise!

To help with that – I’ve got a bright, fun card for you today – it features one of my favorite suites from the Jan-Apr 2025 Mini Catalog – the Friends of the Ocean Bundle!  I used…uhm…ALL the things in the suite!  The Ocean Friends bundle, Friends of the Ocean DSP, Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder AND the Sunny Day Iridescent Dots!  BOOM!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I did a quick video on how to make this cool card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by adhering some fun Friends of the Ocean DSP to the front of a Thick Basic White card base using Liquid Glue.

For the art panel – I stamped the Ocean Friends sentiment in Summer Splash ink in the middle of a Basic White panel.  Then I put both bubble images from the set on a single acrylic block and stamped all over the panel in Lemon Lime Twist ink.

I embossed the panel in the Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder, matted it on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the crab outline image from Ocean Friends in Melon Mambo ink – then added the fill image in stamped-off-once Melon Mambo.  I also stamped the lobster – the outline in Calypso Coral and the fill in stamped-off-once Calypso Coral.

Then I cut them both out with their corresponding dies in the bundled Ocean Friends die set.

Using the coral die from Ocean Friends – I cut out two corals from Summer Splash 2024-2026 In Color Glimmer Specialty Paper.  I adhered one of the die cuts at the bottom of the Basic White panel using Liquid Glue.

I snipped the second die to make two smaller corals – and adhered them at the top left corner of the panel with Liquid Glue.

I adhered the die cut crustaceans with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I added some Calypso Coral Sunny Day Iridescent Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Ocean Friends coral twice in Summer Splash ink in the bottom left of a Basic White panel.  Then I added the bubbles a few times in Lemon Lime Twist ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Thick Basic White card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Ocean Friends coral and bubbles on the front…

…and more of the Friends of the Ocean DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is just the most fun suite, y’all – such bright and tropical colors in the Friends of the Ocean DSP!  And the dies in the Ocean Friends set will actually cut out several images in the DSP!  But – you can ALSO use the two-step stamps in the bundled die set to stamp crustaceans of any color you like – and cut THOSE out as well!  BOOM!

I hope you like!

CARDSTOCK PRICE CHANGES COMING SOON

Stampin’ Up! shared this with us yesterday so I wanted to pass it along!

In light of steadily increasing production costs, we’ve made a few updates to our cardstock offerings.

WHY THE CHANGE?
Over the years, Stampin’ Up! has worked diligently to manage rising costs while balancing high-quality standards and remaining competitive in the market. The costs for raw materials and production have continued to climb, and only a select few mills around the world are qualified to produce our heavyweight, dyed-through cardstock, ensuring it meets our color and quality standards.

WHAT’S CHANGING?

  • 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock:
    • All single-color cardstock packages will now contain 24 sheets (including Basic White and Very Vanilla).
    • Assortments will contain 20 sheets.
    • Prices will be $14 for both single-color and assortment packs.
    • 8-1/2″ x 11″ Thick Basic Cardstock will be discontinued, Thick Basic White Cardstock will be available in 12″ x 12″ packs beginning with the new Annual Catalog in early May.
  • 12″ x 12″ cardstock:
    • Our heavyweight, dyed-through cardstock and Basic White Thick Cardstock packages will contain 24 sheets.
    • 12″ x 12″ dyed cardstock will be $22.
    • 12″ x 12″ Basic White Thick Cardstock will be $26
    • We’re also expanding our 12″ x 12″ offerings with Two-Tone cardstock available in single-color packages in all colors.
    • We will no longer offer 12″ x 12″ dyed cardstock in assortments but will continue to provide 12″ x 12″ Two-Tone assortments that coordinate with our Designer Series Paper & Sticker Sheets.
  • Other Product Updates:
    • Pricing and configuration for our 12″ x 12″ Two-Tone cardstocks and White Willow 12″ x 12″ Cardstock remain unchanged.
    • In addition to the changes mentioned above, you will notice a handful of other price increases, which are typical in a new catalog.

So stock up on those cardstock packs now ahead of the price increases!  You can find the card stock in the online store here

Finn Fan Fix

Signs of Spring are springing up on the farm!

This tree at the far end of the arena is always one of the first to signal the arrival of Spring!  I have no actual idea what it is but…it’s an enthusiastic bloomer every year!

The Tulip Magnolia – one of my faves!

And – better late than not at all – and it’s always a crap shoot.  Will we get FLOWERS or just a bunch of stems!?  Looks like this is a flower-year!!

I didn’t take any pictures of fire-ants cuz I don’t want to validate them, or encourage them in any way,  but…those are already showing up, too.

Spring in Georgia – am I right?!  The good – the bad (tornadoes) – and the ugly (fire ants!).
