Stampin’ Up! Friendly Seagulls Alphabet Fries Card with Video

Good morning and happy Friday!  Hope you’ve got a good weekend ahead – with warmer – and drier! – weather!

My card today will make you want to be on some beach…some where…channeling Blake Shelton…and hearing the Friendly Seagulls calling!  I used that cute set – which is FREE with a $60 purchase during the Jan-Feb 2025 Sale-A-Bration! – along with some Friends of the Ocean DSP and a fun little sentiment die cut with the Mini Alphabet dies.  Take a look-see:

The fun layout is from the Sketch Saturday challenge this week.

I started with one of the designs in the Friends of the Ocean DSP – from the Jan-Apr 2025 Mini Catalog – that I cut into four equal-sized pieces.  Then I adhered them to an Early Espresso mat with Liquid Glue.

I used the next-to-smallest square Stylish Shapes die to cut out three Basic White squares.  I colored one with the Light Summer Splash Stampin’ Blend then stamped the flying silhouette birds from Friendly Seagulls twice in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

For the middle square – I inked half the sentiment from Friendly Seagulls in Summer Splash and stamped it on the square.  Then I cleaned the stamp – inked the second half of the sentiment – and stamped it under the first.  I added Light Summer Splash and Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends – for sky and sand.  Then I stamped the shells image from Friendly Seagulls a couple times in Crumb Cake ink.

The bottom square I colored with the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend and then stamped it with the shells and the sand images from the set in Crumb Cake ink.

Using the Mini Alphabet Dies (from the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog) I cut out the letters for “FRIES” in Summer Splash cardstock.  I stamped all of them with the shells image from Friendly Seagulls using Summer Splash ink.

THEN – I decided I should use the little fries carton from Friendly Seagulls as the “I” in fries.  So…I stamped it twice in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Basic White cardstock.  I colored them with the Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Summer Splash and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  Then I fussy cut them with my Paper Snips.

Using Liquid Glue for the die cut letters – and a Stampin’ Dimensional for the fries carton – I added the word to the card front.

I used some Glue Dots to add several loops of Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine to the card front.  Then I adhered the squares with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added the second fries carton with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the seagull in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored him with the Light and Dark Smoky Slate, Light Calypso Coral and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend Markers.  Then – yep – I fussy cut him with the Paper Snips!

I adhered him with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals and…the card front was done!

On the inside, I colored the bottom corner of a Basic White panel with the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend.  Then I stamped the Friendly Seagulls shells image in Crumb Cake ink.  I stamped the seagull and fries with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored them with Stampin’ Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Summer Splash card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the sand and french fries on the front…

…and more of the Friends of the Ocean DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh – this little Friendly Seagulls set is so stinkin’ cute!  They all look so….”up to something”!! And being FREE – just makes it even better!  The Friends of the Ocean DSP adds such fun color and patterns to projects – I really like it a lot!  Mini Alphabet Dies – those letters are about 3/4″ x 3/8″ and are fairly perfect for many many card projects.  Or scrapbooking!! 🙂

If you’d like to recreate this project, all the products and card cuts you’ll need are down below! And this is the card I made on yesterday’s Thursday After Lunch Bunch YouTube video.  If you’d like to see it – for the first time or again! – here ’tis:

Finn Fan Fix

The other evening, when we got back in from our walk, Finn helped himself to a spot on the sofa.

We BOTH knew that that’s….Dad’s spot.

Uh-oh…

Maybe he won’t notice…

I think he noticed.

Fortunately, our “pack” order is firmly in place.

And, apparently, HE’S at the top!
