Stampin’ Up! Birthday Celebration Sneak Peek Tower Card with Video for Creative Creases #99

Good morning and Happy Friday!  Hope your week has gone well and given you a good start to the New Year! 🙂

Today is our first Creative Creases Challenge of 2025!  And – we’re doing a little change-up to help you out!  We’re changing to a MONTHLY schedule – so we’ll go live on the first Friday (aka – today!) and the challenge will end ONE MONTH later – on the first Thursday (which is the day before the NEXT challenge will kick off!).  We’re STILL all about the fun folds and hope you’ll come and join us every month!!

For our first challenge of the year, I made a Tower Card for you – highlighting the new Birthday Celebrations bundle and coordinating Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP – BOTH of which will be available to you NEXT TUESDAY!!  Whoo-hoo!! Take a look-see:

You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards –  at this month’s Creative Creases Challenge!   😎

I started this one with a piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock that I scored and cut according to this template, using my trusty Simply Scored Board and Paper Trimmer.

Then I folded the score lines according to this template:

Some manipulating of the folds and cuts (which you can see in the video linked down below!) yielded the “tower” and then the decorating started!

I matted narrow cake-strewn strips of the new Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP on Blueberry Bushel cardstock and then adhered them on the narrow side panels on the front…

…and I used a pretty striped pattern on the back!

I stamped a Birthday Celebration sentiment in Blueberry Bushel on a piece of Soft Sea Foam paper from the Wildflower Celebration Specialty DSP.  I matted it on Blueberry Bushel and adhered it in the center of the back of the card.  Then I added an Adhesive-backed Heart Sequin.

I matted three Pool Party pieces of the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP (with the fold-foiled scallops) on Blueberry Bushel cardstock – then adhered them to the three horizontal panels on the front of the card.

Using the large banner die in the Birthday Celebration die set, I cut two banners from the Soft Sea Foam Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP and used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the card front.  Note: be sure not to get glue on the parts of the banners that extend over the “gaps” in card front or…it might get stuck!! 🙁

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a gold-foil banner (from the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP die cuts sheets) across the top.

I adhered the big balloon die cut (the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP includes TWO sheets of birthday-themed die cuts!) using Liquid Glue. Note – to let this fun fold “fold” up correctly and fit in your envelope – be sure none of your embellishments spill over any edges.  It helps to fold the card up while you’re decorating! 🙂

For the number, I used the Birthday Celebrations dies to cut out an Old Olive Glimmer Paper “1” (from the Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Glimmer Specialty Paper Pack).  I stamped “st” (from the Birthday Celebration set) in Old Olive ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it out with the smallest banner die in the bundled die set.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the little banner just under the Glimmer Paper “1” and then added another little die cut flower from the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP.  I adhered it all to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a label “strip” – cut from the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP – I stamped the Birthday Celebration sentiment in Old Olive ink.  Then I adhered that strip to a gold-foil-striped strip from the DSP pack using Liquid Glue – and then to the card front.

On a piece of Thick Basic White Cardstock, I stamped another Birthday Celebration sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink.  Then I fussy cut the sentiment using Paper Snips and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Under the popped up sentiment, I tucked a die cut cupcake, a couple of golf foil leaves, an Old Olive die cut leaf and a flower (ALL from the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP die cuts sheet!) adhering them with Liquid Glue.

I adhered more of the Adhesive-backed Heart Sequins and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the banner image from Birthday Celebrations in Blueberry Bushel and Old Olive on the front…

…and more of the Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila! This Wildflower Birthday Suite – is so much fun – it’s truly a party in paper and stamps and ink!  The DPS sets the stage – with it’s beautiful paper and fun die cuts – and the coordinating Birthday Celebration stamp set and die bundle brings it all home!
