Stampin’ Up! ‭Decorative Trees & Bows Diamond Fold Christmas Card

Good morning, y’all!  Have you got all your T-day dinner prep work done?  Or is that on today’s agenda!?  If I was home – I’d be hard-boiling eggs today – maybe making the maple bars.  And mixing up a batch of pimento cheese so it’d be all melded together and yummy!

My card today comes to you thanks to another good friend – and member of my Critters-N-Creatin’ Krew team – Susan Kuenzel!  I got a fun envelope in the mail yesterday and it had a bunch of card cuts, a couple of sentiments and some twine and embellishments.  And a little info on the fold.  But no picture of the final project!  So…I had a very enjoyable 45 minutes putting this diamond fold fun fold card together for you.  It showcases one of my favorite bundles – the Decorative Trees bundle – and some Take a Bow DSP.  Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! ‭Decorative Trees & Bows Diamond Fold Christmas Card- Stamps-N-Lingers

This one starts with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Garden Green cardstock, scored and folded at 5 1/2″ and 8 7/8″ on the long side.

Next, use a pencil to lightly mark the middle (at 2 1/8″) of the short end (closest to the 8 7/8″ score line) and then use a Paper Trimmer to cut from the mark to the 8 7/8″ score line – to make a point.

Susan sent me mats in Basic White and in Crumb Cake so that I could choose which I preferred.  I picked the Crumb Cake and used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ DSP to one of the mats – and then to the front panel of the card.

I folded the triangle end of the card base back over the front panel and adhered a 3″ x 3″ piece of Garden Green cardstock to the point (tipped up as a diamond!) using Liquid Glue.  And – that’s the fun fold, folks!

For the inner liner, stamp the Decorative Trees image in Garden Green on a piece of Basic White cardstock.   Add the sentiment in Real Red over the top.

Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the left side of a Crumb Cake panel.  I adhered a second design from the Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ DSP on the other side.  Then I adhered it inside the card base with Liquid Glue.

For the front of the card, I matted a third design from the Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ DSP on a Crumb Cake square and then to the Garden Green diamond using Liquid Glue.

Using the dies from the Decorative Trees die set, I cut out a solid tree from Granny Apple Green Festive Glimmer Paper and a “perforated” tree from Garden Green cardstock.

I adhered the Garden Green tree to the Glimmer Paper tree using Liquid Glue, then adhered it to the diamond with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a small simple bow from two lengths of Real Red & White Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is stamped in Real Red on a strip of Basic White cardstock and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Note: I used double-stacks of Dimensionals under the right-end of the sentiment.

Some Decorative Trees die cut bows (adhered with Liquid Glue) and a few Real Red & White Adhesive-backed Peppermints finished off the card!  So cute!

The Basic White Medium Envelope got the Decorative Trees Garden Green tree and a Real Red sentiment on the front (Susan knows me WELL!)..

…and more of the Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  This was such a fun card to make – thanks to the Decorative Trees bundle with its cute die cuts and sentiments – and the wunnermus traditionally-colored Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ DSP!  The fold is easy to do – but different enough to really WOW your recipient!

Finn Fan Fix

I’m still in Colorado – Finn’s still in Georgia!  So..no new pictures till I get home.

Here’s a blast-from-the-past to hold you over! 🙂

From 3 May 2017:

I didn’t realize exactly what he was trying to tell me the other night with this look….

We were putting the girls out to spend the night stuffing their faces and tucking Bo in his bedroom with the rest of his dinner.

Finn pulls up in front of me…

When we got back in the house, I went back to writing a blog post and Wayne hit the shower.

Finn is with me in the living room while I type away.  He climbs the steps next to my chair and puts his hand on my leg.  And whines.

I say….no, Finn-y, we can’t do that, Mom’s gotta to work.  Not sure why I refer to myself in the third person…?

Wayne hears me and says – come on in here, Finn!

Surprisingly….he goes! 👀😮

He was – apparently! – ready for bed.  Too hot.  Too tired.  Just needed his house, his two mini-milk-bone go-to-bed treats, and the fan pointed on him.

By the time I got done, he was sawing logs.

Sometimes the great weariness just overcomes a kid and he just has to go to bed.

Know what I mean?

That’s such a cute card! And so sweet of Susan to send you a little care package with some card making pieces. 🙂 If you’re still wanting to make the maple bars…I’m guessing that they’d ship nicely to New Jersey. 😉

  2. Susan K

I knew you wouldn’t need a picture to make the card your own! Much cuter and brighter than what I did with it! I love the versatility of that DSP. TFS. Tell Kate hi!

Thanks, Susan – it was a lot of fun to put together!! 🙂

Mary, you have such thoughtful teammates. What a nice surprise! I don’t remember the story about Finn, but lately, I don’t remember a lot. I think the cold is affecting my brain…lol.

I have the BEST TEAM EVER!! My Stampin’ Up! family, for sure!! And – just remember – no hurricanes no hurricanes….:). But stay warm, my friend! 🙂
