Stampin’ Up! Sentimental Yuletide Joy Fold Christmas Card for the SU Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!  We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see!  This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!!  How cool is that?!?

I was reminded at our team meeting last week how much I love Joy Fold cards so…I pulled out THREE new stamp sets – the Yuletide Village, Falling Snow and Peaceful Season sets – and some beautiful Sentimental Christmas DSP to make one for you today!  Take a look-see:

Isn’t that paper so pretty!?

I started with two card bases – a large and a small.  The large base, in Shaded Spruce – is 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded 3″.   The small base, in Petal Pink,  is 3″ x 8″, scored and folded at 4″.

Tip: the only “hard” part about a joy fold card is making sure you decorate the small card base with the fold on the RIGHT side – not the left!  Keep that in mind and you’ll be golden! 🤙

I picked two designs from the Sentimental Christmas DSP and matted three panels on Petal Pink cardstock.  Then I adhered them to the two small panels and the back panel on the large card base using Liquid Glue.

For the small card, I adhered another piece of the striped Sentimental Christmas DSP to the front (keep that fold on the right!) with Liquid Glue.

For the inside, I stamped a Peaceful Season sentiment in Shaded Spruce on a small Basic White panel.  Over the top, I stamped one of the Yuletide Village houses in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I used the Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend to color the house, the Dark Crumb Cake Blend for the roof and window trims, Dark Daffodil Delight Blend for the windows – and the Light Poppy Parade Blend for the bow on the front.  I brushed the snow with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the small card base.  Then I used Liquid Glue on the back of the small card base to adhere it to the middle of the back panel of the large card base.

For the front – I stamped the Falling Snow image in Versamark Ink on a piece of Petal Pink cardstock and sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder. I heat set the powder with the heat tool and, when it was cool, used the largest circle die in the Spotlight on Nature set to cut out a circle.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the church from Yuletide Village in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored it with the Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light Shaded Spruce, Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends. I brushed the snow with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

I used the next smallest circle die (with the same edge design) from Spotlight on Nature to partially die cut the circle.

I placed the top cutting plate only part way over the image and circle die so it would only cut the bottom half.

Using Paper Snips – I fussy cut the top of the image.

I stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Season in Shaded Spruce and then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the church to the Petal Pink circle.

I stamped the Yuletide Village tree three times in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Basic White, colored the trees with the Light Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blend and cut them out with Paper Snips.

I used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the trees to the circle.

Then, using Liquid Glue, I adhered the completed circle to the small card front and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the house image on the front…

…and a little more of the Sentimental Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Really, what’s NOT to love about a Joy Fold Card!?  It’s easy.  And it gives you lots of real estate to decorate with pretty paper like the gorgeous Sentimental Christmas DSP – and still have room for fun images like these with the soooooper pretty Yuletide Village stamp set.  This set needs a sentiment and what better than a couple from the Peaceful Season set?!

I hope you like!
