Stampin’ Up! Splendid Autumn Expressions Grateful For You for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

The colors in the challenge pointed me right at the gorgeous Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ DSP (re-stocking around 23 Sept!).  It’s not even SORT of a burden to play with that gorgeous paper pack so…out it came!  And I used the coordinating Autumn Expressions stamp set – but not the dies, this time.  Instead – I used the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch to make a quick and easy thank you card.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s the color challenge we were all working with!

I started by stamping the grasses image from Autumn Expressions all across the bottom of a panel of Splendid Autumn DSP.  I used Mossy Meadow ink and the DSP is Mossy Meadow – so it’s a cool tone-on-tone look, don’t you think? 🙂

Then I adhered the panel to a Wild Wheat mat with Liquid Glue to make the card front.

I adhered a strip of Splendid Autumn DSP to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch, I punched a piece of Wild Wheat paper from the Splendid Autumn DSP.  Using Paper Snips, I cut the hexagon in half long-ways and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.

I tied a double-loop Linen Thread bow and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.

Then I punched a SECOND hexagon – this one with a pretty sunflower as the focal point – and used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it over the bow.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Autumn Expressions sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.  I used Paper Snips to cut out the sentimnet and then adhered it with Liquid Glue to a little piece of Wild Wheat Splendid Autumn DSP.  I used Paper Snips again – this time to trim out a mat!

I adhered the matted sentiment to the top hexagon with Liquid Glue.

I added some Cajun Craze Faux Glass Dots and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped an Autumn Expressions sentiment in Mossy Meadow on a Basic White panel (yes, I know it looks like Very Vanilla in the photo – sorry – but it’s not).  Then I added the grass image twice in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Cajun Craze card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Autumn Expressions grasses in Mossy Meadow on the front…

…and more of the Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is a super easy card – and the layout is a good one for using ALL the little leftover pieces of gorgeous DSP like this one from Splendid Autumn.  Waste not, want not, right?!?  The simple little sentiment from Autumn Expressions is a good lead in to the large and gorgeous sentiment on the inside!
