Stampin’ UP! Regal Frozen Edges Front Flap with Video for Creative Creases Challenge #91

Good morning and happy Friday! I hope you’ve had an outstanding week and that something fun is in the works for the weekend! 🙂

My card today is sort of for Christmas – sort of a Holiday card – sort of just a “hey, it’s winter!” card!  It features some icy Glimmery snowflakes from the Frozen Edges stamp set and bundled dies.  It’s all on a cool – and easy! – Front Flap fun fold card – graced with pretty Regal Winter DSP.  Take a look-see:

You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards –  at this week’s Creative Creases Challenge!  We’re all about the fun folds and I hope you’ll come and join us – we would LOVE for you to share YOUR fun fold creations with us!

I started by adhering some plaid paper from the Regal Winter DSP on Pool Party cardstock for the card front. I adhered the matted panel to a Pretty Peacock card base.  This card base is just a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock – no fold!

I cut a 3 1/4″ x 6″ piece of Pool Party cardstock, and scored and folded it at 3″ to make the Front Flap card.

I cut two pieces of Regal Winter DSP and stamped a Frozen Edges sentiment on each of them in Versamark Ink.  I sprinkled them with white Embossing Powder and heat set them with the Heat Tool.

When the embossing powder was cool, I used Liquid Glue to adhere the larger panel to the front of the Front Flap card.  I adhered the smaller piece to a Pool Party mat.

I used the long snowflake die from Frozen Edges to cut a piece of white Glimmer Paper (from the Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Specialty Glimmer Paper pack).  Then I determined which part of the strip I wanted for my card and used my Paper Trimmer to cut it down to 3″ wide.  I also trimmed the top – straight – edge down a bit so that the snowflakes wouldn’t cover my sentiment (check the video if that’s confusing, okay?).

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the die cut snowflake edge to the front flap card front

Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the front flap card and the matted sentiment to the card front.

Using the Frozen Edges dies, I cut a few white Glimmer and Pool Party cardstock snowflakes.

I adhered a couple of the Glimmer snowflakes to the sentiment using Liquid Glue.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a Pool Party snowflake to the front flap card – then added a Glimmer snowflake on top of it with a little piece of Stampin’ Dimensional.

For the inside of the front flap card, I stamped the large snowflakes image from Frozen Edges in Pool Party ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel inside the front flap card and the card front was done.

On the back, I stamped that Frozen Edges snowflake image in Pool Party on a Basic White panel and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  This gives a little more room to write a message! 🙂

Now – on the video – I had an extra snowflake so…after taking a vote with the folks watching live…I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.  And I added some clear Drusy Adhesive-backed Embellishments (I love these SOOO much!) to three of the snowflakes!! 🙂

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Frozen Edges snowflakes on the front…

…and more of the Regal Winter DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love both versions of this card – but…the one with the Drusy embellishments is my favorite.  How about you?!

The Frozen Edges bundle is so pretty – and I like that it’s not straight-up Christmas-y, don’t you!?  Makes it a little more versatile.  The Regal Winter DSP made for kind of a surprising backdrop (the other side is VERY flower-dy but this side is quiet and serene!).

Finn Fan Fix

He IS his Dad’s dog.

Without so much as a measuring device, he can plant himself exactly in the middle of any doorway or hall – sometimes more than ONE at a time!

Usually when I’m walking back and forth between my office and the utility room.

It’s his super power.

You’ll be glad to know that me stepping over him and over him and over him…didn’t bother him one bit.

No, I’m totally fine, thanks for asking, Mom.

Such pretty cards! Love the colors and the layering is perfect! And how could Finn be right in the middle of everything if he’s not right in the middle of everything?? 😉

  2. Debbie Mageed

Beautiful holiday/winter card, Mary! They are my favorite kind of card for the holidays and I love that you used such a pretty monochromatic color combination. Hope you have a great weekend!

  3. Kate

    Perfect card!

Finn is actually on “guard duty”
It’s a big job, so he takes a nap.

    • stampsnlingers

      Yes – he’s guarding…that’s maybe an OSHA-mandated break! LOL!! 🙂

  5. Aimee Nooney

I 🩷🩷🩷 this card!!! I want this set so bad and wasn’t sure how to use it. This will be perfect for my Christmas cards this year.

P.S. I also love seeing what Finn is up to each day??

    • stampsnlingers

Glad that you like it (and the Finn-man!), Aimee! Thanks so much! 🙂

  6. Mary…. This little card on an A2 base is so sweet. And, your choice of bundles to use is perfect! How did I miss that cute and cozy greeting? I think I need some hot cocoa. Everything is perfectly placed, even Finn.

LOL – Finn is a consummate professional camera hog! The camera loves him and he loves it (although sometimes he tries to act coy!). Thank you so much, Rae! 🙂
